My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

“Everybody should have a shelter dog. It’s good for the soul.” And do we have a special one for you - meet Ella! This brindle beauty is two years old and weighs 45 pounds, so she's a great choice if you want to adopt a medium sized dog.

Ella has a an aura of elegance about her and is a shelter favorite. She is a loyal and well mannered walking companion who loves being close by your side and exploring the beautiful trails on our shelter grounds. She is so curious and interested in her surroundings.

Ella also has so much fun in the fenced yard, where she enjoys running and playing.

She is so friendly and affectionate and adore being petted and cuddled. We truly enjoy her company!

Ella is a bright dog who wants to please and should do well with training. She is such a sweetheart and is ready to be your new best friend!

More about this shelter

Cheatham County Animal Control is committed to finding good homes for the animals that come into the shelter system. We work with rescues and adopters. We are a no kill shelter but we rely on people coming in to adopt!

All of our cats/dogs receive vaccinations that are appropriate for the age and health when they are at animal control. We also spay and neuter all of our animals. The adopter is responsible for all vaccinations and medical care after adoption.
