My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sister Curly Tail, a Shasta County original with a name that sounds like a beloved character in a storybook and a tail that clearly refused to follow the standard issue blueprint. Some cats have straight tails. Some cats have fluffy tails. Sister Curly Tail said, “No thank you,” and showed up with a signature swirl that deserves its own fan club.

Right now, Sister Curly Tail is very shy, still taking it all in and figuring out this new chapter at her own pace. She may prefer a quiet corner at first and might watch you with those thoughtful golden eyes before deciding it is safe to get closer. A calm approach, soft voices, and letting her choose the timing will go a long way, and once she feels secure, that gentle personality will have room to shine.

If you are looking for a sweet, sensitive kitty who just needs a little patience and a lot of kindness, come meet Sister Curly Tail and help this Shasta County legend feel at home.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
