My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Charlie, a black and white cutie with classic good looks and the kind of tuxedo style that says, “Yes, I am dressed for every occasion.” With those bright eyes, that sweet pink nose, and those dramatic whiskers, Charlie is clearly ready for a cozy life of window watching, blanket lounging, and high level snack supervision.

Right now, Charlie is very shy and still adjusting to all the new sights and sounds. He may prefer to hang back at first, tuck into a safe little spot, and observe you quietly before deciding it is time to be social. The best way to win him over is the gentle approach: quiet voices, slow movements, and letting Charlie choose the pace. With patience and consistency, his confidence will grow and that sweet personality will have room to shine.

If you are looking for a tender, sensitive companion and you have the kind heart it takes to help a shy kitty feel safe, come meet Charlie and let him show you what trust looks like, one small step at a time.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
