Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Pig is a handsome three-year-old Siamese-colored kitty with the most adorable black spot on his nose that looks just like a tiny mustache—giving him a look full of charm and character. He’s a gentle soul who enjoys quietly watching the world around him, taking everything in with curious eyes.
Pig likes pets and affection, though he can be a little shy at first. With patience, kindness, and a calm environment, we’re confident he’ll continue to grow more comfortable and show his loving side. He’s the kind of cat who appreciates a slower pace and would thrive in a home that lets him warm up on his own terms.
He is also neutered and up to date on her core vaccinations and monthly preventatives. If you’re looking for a sweet, thoughtful companion with a one-of-a-kind mustache and a heart full of potential, Pig could be the perfect addition to your family. Give him the love he deserves, and he’ll reward you with quiet companionship and trust. Give us a call at (740) 314-5583 for more information!

More about this shelter
We are the Jefferson County Humane Society and , except for our humane officers (who are paid very nominally), we are all volunteers! Our members were instrumental in getting a local levy passed to build a new and larger shelter and the doors opened in 2011. We are currently participating in Iams Home for the Holidays Program and the Purina Pets for People grant program. We are actively pursuing other grants and recently have been asked by the county to partner with them in the operation of the new shelter. Since we are a humane society, our main focus is on getting animals spayed and neutered so there are no more homeless pets. To that end, we bring in a mobile animal surgical clinic who performs spays and neuters at a reduced rate. We are always looking for volunteers to help us in our efforts and, of course, for financial contributions (we are a non-profit, 501 (c)3) and pet adopters! Other items such as food, treats, pet carriers, cages, leashes, collars, food bowls, etc. are also ALWAYS welcomed and appreciated. Please contact us if you have an item to be donated or would like to volunteer with us to try to save some of these homeless, but very loveable, dogs!
