Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Goose ?? This 12lb, 10-month-old Mini Smooth Haired Dachshund found himself at the shelter after being picked up while wandering the streets alone. Goose can be pretty skittish at first. New environments and unfamiliar faces make him nervous, and he tends to take his time deciding who he can trust. But once you earn his heart and he picks his person, he wants to stay right by their side — your little shadow, always checking in and happiest when he knows you’re close. He may be shy, but Goose has a voice and isn’t afraid to use it! If someone’s knocking at the door or something seems out of the ordinary, he’ll make sure you know about it. He’d make a great little alert system for a home that appreciates a watchful companion. Goose isn’t quite sure what to do with toys just yet — he’s still figuring out how to “just be a puppy.” Treats, however? Those he understands perfectly. Snacks are the quickest way to win him over and will be a wonderful tool in helping him build confidence. Goose is looking for a patient, kind home that will give him the time he needs to blossom. With love, reassurance, and plenty of treats, this timid boy is sure to grow into the most loyal best friend you could ever ask for. We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via FB Messenger or email us at jcasreception@johnsoncounty.in.gov for an application. You can also find one on our website at http://johnsoncountyanimalshelter.com/adopt/. Once an application is submitted and approved, we can set an appointment to meet the pet!
