Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Tembla ?? This 24lb, 2-year-old, Beagle was found wandering the streets all alone. When she arrived at the shelter, she was completely terrified. The world felt overwhelming, and she shut down in fear. We moved her into a quiet, cozy space where she could begin to feel safe. For days, she tucked herself into her crate, watching quietly and keeping her distance. But healing takes time — and Tembla is starting to show us her brave side. After a week of patient love and consistency, she has begun to show interest in a couple of the people who have spent the most time sitting gently beside her. Once Tembla feels safe with you, her loyalty shines- she just wants to stay close to her person. Your quiet presence becomes her comfort, and she’ll choose to stick right by your side. Tembla would thrive in a calm, predictable home where she can continue to build confidence at her own pace. A quiet household without young children would be best for her, as sudden movements and loud noises can still be overwhelming. With patience, kindness, and understanding, this sweet girl will blossom into the most devoted companion. We do all adoptions with approved applicants by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please contact us via FB Messenger or email us at jcasreception@johnsoncounty.in.gov for an application. You can also find one on our website at http://johnsoncountyanimalshelter.com/adopt/. Once an application is submitted and approved, we can set an appointment to meet the pet!
