My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m your future best friend, Kalia🐾💛

I’m fully housebroken 🚽 and crate trained (yep… I’m basically a straight-A student 👩🏻‍🎓 ). I sleep well in my crate and keep my space nice and tidy because I’m a classy girl like that 🤭.

I’m a medium-to-high energy gal who LOVES a fenced yard and having a playmate 🐶. If I don’t get my exercise, I might redecorate your house in “modern chew” — charging cords and collars have learned this the hard way 🙈 But don’t worry! I’m very easy to redirect and I listen REALLY well. I still need a little practice but give me a walk 🐕‍🦺 (about an hour is perfect!) or some good playtime and I’m a happy, well-behaved girl 😊

I’m sweet as can be 🥰. When I first got here, I was a little nervous and unsure. Now that I’m comfortable, I’m starting to scoot closer and sit next to my person. I think I might secretly be a cuddle bug… I just need a little time to claim my spot. 🙃

With food 🦴 and toys 🧸? Totally relaxed. I’ll happily give up my bones and share. No drama here.

With other dogs? 🐶 I like them! I can be a little assertive at first and sometimes need a reminder to back off, but I’m learning my manners. I’ve done great with small dogs, and I even give hope that I could live peacefully with cats 🐱. Guests? I’m respectful and sweet! 😘

My perfect home? 🏡 An active family, a fenced yard, maybe a playful dog sibling, and someone who understands that exercise keeps me happy and out of “chew mode.” If you love walks, playtime, and a loyal companion who listens well and learns fast, I’m your girl. 😍

I promise to give you my whole heart — and maybe someday, your whole lap. 💕🐶

Additional adoption info

Each pet that is available for adoption is in a foster home for a minimum of 2 weeks after being rescued. This allows the animal to decompress and show their true personality, which in turn helps us find their best match.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

Visit https://operationfreedomride.com/ and click "available pets" to see who is available for adoption.

Periodically we have adoption events around the greater Rochester, NY area; however, we largely rely on the application process to best match people/families with available pets and then set-up a meet and greet to make sure it's a great match before finalizing the adoption.
