Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Jackson: A Five-Year-Old Professional Cuddle Bug
If you’re looking for a shadow with a heartbeat and a purr like a small engine, meet Jackson. This handsome guy was surrendered to us when his previous owner realized he desperately needed dental surgery they simply couldn`t afford. Because they did the selfless thing and brought him to us, Jackson has now received the full dental procedure he needed and is feeling like a brand-new cat!
At five years old, Jackson is in the `sweet spot` of cat ownership. He’s past the chaotic kitten phase and has moved directly into his `professional supervisor` era. Jackson is a prolific maker of biscuits. Give him a soft blanket (or a lap), and he’ll get right to work. He also doesn`t just want to be in the same room as you; he wants to be by your side. He is a total lovebug who thrives on being your constant companion. Now that his dental issues are a thing of the past, Jackson is pain-free, happy, and ready to show off his sweet personality. Jackson is currently carrying a little extra `love` around the middle. To keep his joints healthy and his energy up, he’ll need a family committed to a controlled weight loss plan. He’s looking for a partner to help him trade the extra treats for extra head scratches!
Jackson is FIV positive (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Don`t let the label fool you, it sounds much scarier than it is! FIV+ cats can live long, happy, healthy lives. It is only spread through deep, jagged bite wounds. He can safely live with other friendly cats or as your one-and-only. He just needs to stay indoors, eat a quality diet, and have a stable routine.
Due to this lifelong disease, it is possible that Jackson will be more susceptible to acquiring illnesses throughout his life and may require more frequent veterinary visits/treatments. We also suggest any future adopters research this disease prior to adoption to determine if Jackson is the right fit for their household.
Jackson is neutered, has received core vaccinations (Feline Distemper, Rabies), flea preventative, has been dewormed, and is microchipped.
If you have any questions about Jackson or our adoption process, feel free to reach out to adoption staff at 920-733-1717 or adopt@foxvalleypets.org.
