Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Luke, a very sweet but shy boy who is looking for a patient and understanding home. Luke has had a difficult time adjusting to shelter life and can be fearful in new or busy environments. Because of this, he will need extra time and a slow, gentle transition into his new home. It’s very important that his adopters understand that trust will not happen overnight. Luke will thrive with calm energy, predictable routines, and people who are willing to let him move at his own pace. Luke has no known experience with children or other animals. Due to his shy and sensitive nature, any introductions to new people & children or other pets must be done very slowly and thoughtfully. Once he feels safe, Luke is truly a sweet and loving boy. He just needs time, patience, and reassurance to show his affectionate side. With a compassionate family who understands that adjustment can take some time, Luke has so much love to give. If you’re willing to go slow and give him the space he needs to blossom, Luke will be a deeply rewarding companion.

The first step in our adoption process is to submit an adopter profile through our website. We then encourage you to visit PARL at 34 Elbow Street and get to know the animals we have available. You do not need an appointment, and we invite you to visit us often. PARL’s goal is to assist you in finding your best match for a lifelong companion.
When you arrive, you’ll sign PARL’s visitor log, and staff will direct you to PARL’s cat rooms, small animal spaces, or dog kennels (depending on your preference.) We encourage you to spend time outside with the dogs, or petting our cats and small animals. Please ask questions -- that's why we're here.
If you don't find what you are looking for the first time, please come see us again! Chances are that we will have some new furry friends available for adoption, and one of them might be purr-fect for you!
