My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I’m Bao — a young adult kitty with a big heart and an even bigger curiosity about the world. I was found wandering as a stray, doing my best to take care of myself, but deep down I always hoped someone would come along and give me a real home. Even after everything, I’ve stayed friendly, open, and full of affection. I love meeting new people, exploring new spaces, and discovering all the cozy spots where I can curl up. I’m the kind of cat who will trot over to say hello, lean in for pets, and happily soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. If you sit down, don’t be surprised if I join you — I’m a companion at heart. I’m looking for a forever family who wants a sweet, social, curious friend by their side. Someone who will let me explore, play, and be part of their everyday life. I’ve already learned how wonderful it feels to be cared for, and I’m ready to give that love right back. If you’re searching for an affectionate, friendly cat with a gentle spirit and a curious streak, I think we’d make a great match. I’m Bao, and I can’t wait to find my home.

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City.
