My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I’m Simba, and I’m currently looking for a new kingdom to call my own after my previous family had to move. I’ll be honest—this shelter life is a bit overwhelming, so I might act a little shy and keep to myself at first, but my previous owners want you to know that I am actually a very friendly, affectionate, and vocal guy once I feel safe. I’m a bit of an independent spirit who likes to do my own thing, but I’ll occasionally decide your lap is the perfect place for a nap, and I absolutely love getting head scratches. Just keep in mind that I’m a guy who knows what he likes; when I’ve had enough petting, I’ll give you a tiny, gentle `love bite` to let you know it’s time for some space. I am a total pro at playing and can turn almost anything into a toy, though nothing beats my squeaky toy rat or a fast-moving laser light! My old family said they loved everything about me, especially the random, adorable faces I make when I’m just hanging out. Since I’ve never lived with other cats, dogs, or kids, I’d love a patient home where I can be your one-and-only while I settle back into my confident, playful self.

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City.
