Hi… I’m Ebony. I’ll be honest — I’m not the kind of cat who will run up to greet you. My world changed when my owner passed away, and since then I’ve been feeling unsure and overwhelmed. I’ve always lived indoors, in a quiet home, and big changes are very hard for me. I’m naturally shy, fearful, and a bit aloof. I don’t seek out laps, I don’t enjoy being pet, and I’m not comfortable being picked up. In fact, I’ve kept to myself so much that I’ve never really allowed much handling at all. I’m just a very independent and cautious soul. In my previous home, I lived with another cat, though we didn’t interact. I’ve never lived with dogs, and I haven’t been around children, so a quiet home would likely suit me best. If there are other pets or children in the home, very slow, patient introductions will be important to help me feel safe and adjust at my own pace. What I need isn’t constant affection — it’s patience, understanding, and space. I’m looking for a calm home that will let me exist at my own pace, without pressure. Maybe one day I’ll learn to trust more deeply. Maybe I’ll always be your quiet shadow across the room. Either way, I deserve a safe place to land. If you believe every cat deserves a chance — even the shy, complicated ones like me — I hope you’ll consider giving me that opportunity.
