Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Jewel: A Loving English Setter Looking for a Forever Home
Jewel’s Story
Jewel is a stunning 3-year-old purebred English Setter who has a unique story to tell. Originally from a hunting club, Jewel was trained and used as a hunting guide dog. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected breeding incident with a different breed dog, her former owner, who held superstitious beliefs about mixed breeding, decided he no longer wanted her. In Texas, it's not uncommon for unwanted hunting dogs to face a grim fate - they are usually taken to the woods and shot, but thankfully, a compassionate rescuer intervened. Instead of meeting a tragic end, Jewel was surrendered to a rescue organization and given a second chance at life.
Jewel’s Characteristics
Jewel arrived at the rescue very skinny and shy, but her loving nature quickly shone through. She is an incredibly beautiful dog, both inside and out, and she has a lot to offer to her future family. Here are some of Jewel's remarkable qualities:
Good with Kids and Other Dogs: Jewel has a gentle temperament and gets along wonderfully with children and other dogs, making her an ideal companion for families looking to expand their furry family.
Leash and Crate Trained: Jewel is already well-trained, knowing how to walk on a leash and stay in a crate comfortably. This makes her transition into a new home much smoother.
Health and Care: Jewel is up-to-date on all her vaccines, microchipped, spayed, and heartworm negative. She is in excellent health and ready for a loving home.
Temperament and Energy Level: Jewel has a good temperament and exhibits a medium energy level. She is very smart and sweet, eager to learn, and quick to adapt to new environments.
Why Jewel Would Make a Great Addition
Jewel is not just a hunting dog; she is a loyal companion who deserves a loving home where she can thrive. Her intelligence and sweet nature make her an excellent candidate for a family looking for a friendly and affectionate pet.
If you are interested in giving Jewel the forever home she deserves, please fill out an application. Jewel is waiting to share her love and companionship with a family that will appreciate her beautiful spirit and give her the care and affection she needs.
