Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Wispy is a 2-year-old, snuggly sweetheart looking for his forever home!
This charming little guy is the definition of a cuddle bug. Wispy absolutely adores curling up in your lap or stretching out across your chest for a cozy nap. When he’s not soaking up affection, he’s perfectly content finding a soft nook around the house to catch some ZZZs. He’s wonderfully talkative and will greet you at the door like you’ve been gone for weeks, even if you just stepped out to grab groceries!
Wispy has a playful, curious side too. He loves chasing and leaping after his feather wand toy, showing off his impressive jumps and playful spirit. He enjoys being part of whatever you’re doing, whether you’re cooking dinner, tidying up, or relaxing on the couch, Wispy is happy to be your little shadow and supervisor.
Currently, Wispy lives in a studio apartment with one work-from-home human, and he’s thriving with the close companionship. His ideal home would include lots of snuggle time and, if possible, a friendly feline companion to cuddle and play with. He would be absolutely over the moon if his humans let him sleep in bed at night, being close to his people is his favorite thing.
When Wispy first entered foster care, he meowed a bit at night while getting settled. Now that he feels safe and secure, he’s a wonderful nighttime companion who lets his foster sleep soundly.
If you’re looking for a loving, affectionate, and playful best friend who will greet you with excitement and fill your home with warmth, Wispy just might be your perfect match!

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

Our Mission
Pet Haven improves the lives of pets and the people who love them by rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs and cats; reducing pet overpopulation by supporting spay and neuter efforts, and providing resources to people that help strengthen the human-animal bond.
Our Vision
A Minnesota where all pets live in safe, loving homes.
Our Values
Excellence in service and care; community; integrity; innovation; perseverance; compassion; a rewarding place to volunteer
How We Help
Spay/Neuter Initiative Program: Providing support to end pet overpopulation in Minnesota
Owner Surrender: Providing a safe haven for pet owners
Foster: Committed to finding forever homes for cats and dogs
Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
