Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Naan and Nector are 3-month-old, sweet and snuggly brothers looking for their forever home!
These two might just be the perfect kittens. Despite being found in a plastic tub on the side of the road on a chilly January day in northern Minnesota, they have blossomed into the most affectionate, goofy, and well-behaved indoor companions. Naan, the black kitten, is basically a little cartoon come to life. He looks like a soot sprite straight out of My Neighbor Totoro and spends his days chasing dust motes and light reflections, eagerly awaiting breakfast, and curling up in any available lap. The moment he senses food, play, or snuggles in his future, his purr starts rumbling at full volume.
Nector, the brown tabby, is a handsome little lion with oversized paws and wonderfully tufty ears. He loves to wrestle with his brother and bat around any toy he can find, and he is especially content tucked under your chin while you read or watch television, purring softly. Both boys sleep sprawled on their backs or piled on top of each other, gently meep for attention, and are fully vetted and ready to be adored.
For kittens, their energy level is refreshingly relaxed. They enjoy a few lively play sessions throughout the day, happily chasing wand toys or bounding after balls, but they spend much of their time lounging in sunbeams or simply hanging out near their people. They would likely enjoy a cozy window perch where they can watch birds or the world go by. While they do get the occasional burst of zoomies, they are not big climbers or daredevils. A handful of interactive play sessions and a few engaging toys they can use on their own will keep them healthy and entertained.
Naan and Nector currently live in a home with two adult humans, another adult cat, and their sister, Nacho. They get along beautifully with everyone. They have also met a toddler and an energetic six-year-old and handled both with calm curiosity, making them a wonderful fit for a family as long as adults guide gentle interactions. They have not yet met a dog, but they would likely adapt well to a calm, cat savvy dog without a strong prey drive.
Their ideal home is almost anywhere that offers laps, toys, snacks, and affection. They are easygoing without being overly mischievous, so they would do well in a house, apartment, or condo. They would thrive as the center of attention, grow up happily alongside children, or befriend a resident cat who enjoys feline company. They are loving, lovely little companions who will fill their home with laughter and warmth.
These boys are truly special. With regular brushing to keep their soft coats looking their best, they will reward their family with endless snuggles, gentle purrs, and joyful moments every single day!

Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.
All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

Our Mission
Pet Haven improves the lives of pets and the people who love them by rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs and cats; reducing pet overpopulation by supporting spay and neuter efforts, and providing resources to people that help strengthen the human-animal bond.
Our Vision
A Minnesota where all pets live in safe, loving homes.
Our Values
Excellence in service and care; community; integrity; innovation; perseverance; compassion; a rewarding place to volunteer
How We Help
Spay/Neuter Initiative Program: Providing support to end pet overpopulation in Minnesota
Owner Surrender: Providing a safe haven for pet owners
Foster: Committed to finding forever homes for cats and dogs
Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
