Betty is a 2-year-old social queen looking for her forever home. This incredibly sweet girl is a total purring machine who loves spending time with her people. She enjoys napping in the window, soaking up the sunshine, and even watching nature documentaries. Betty is a social butterfly who approaches new places, people, and things with a cautious but very curious spirit.
Betty has a moderately active energy level. She loves her play sessions first thing in the morning and again before bed, happily chasing toys and getting her wiggles out. After that, she is content to relax nearby, keeping her humans company and enjoying a cozy nap close to the action.
Right now, Betty has her own room in a house and often gets to explore the living room and resident bedroom. She interacts well with the two resident cats and a large breed dog, showing that she can comfortably share her space.
Her ideal home would be one where she can receive plenty of human attention and affection. She would not mind having another four-legged friend around to keep her company, as long as she still gets to be the center of someone’s world.
Betty is scheduled to be spayed March 21st and will be ready to go to her new home after that date.

Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption.

Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
