My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Chase (A Little Camera Shy, But Full of Heart)

Chase is a handsome young boy with a sleek black coat, expressive amber eyes, and a gentle personality that quickly wins people over. At about 12 years old, hes still a young dog with plenty of life and adventure ahead of him.

When Chase first meets new people he can be a little shy, but it doesnt take long before his sweet, friendly nature comes through. Once he feels comfortable, he enjoys attention and being near his people. Dogs like Chase often blossom quickly once they settle into a home where they feel safe and loved.

Chase has already shown he has some wonderful house manners. He walks nicely on a leash, appears to be potty trained and crate trained, and he seems to get along well with other dogs. His easygoing temperament and polite behavior suggest he may have already spent time living in a home environment.

At about 43 pounds (currently a bit underweight), Chase will likely fill out to the mid-40 to 50 pound range once he settles in and gains a little weight a perfect medium size for someone looking for a dog whos sturdy enough for outdoor adventures but still easy to manage.

One funny thing about Chase hes a bit camera shy. Our photographer sometimes uses a large camera with a long lens, and Chase isnt quite sure what to think about that big thing pointed at him! It can make him a little uneasy, but once the camera disappears he relaxes again and shows his friendly side. In person, hes a sweet and gentle boy who just wants to feel safe.

As for his breed, Chase has the athletic build, alert expression, and striking eyes often seen in Shepherd and Husky-type mixes. Our best guess is that he may be a Shepherd / Husky mix, which would explain his intelligence, awareness of his surroundings, and balanced energy level.

Chases story began when he was found running loose and brought to safety by a Good Samaritan. Now hes ready for the next chapter a family who will give him stability, kindness, and the chance to truly shine.

If youre looking for a sweet, loyal companion with a gentle heart, Chase may be the perfect match. Apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
