My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cadet: Reporting for Cuddle Duty.

Cadet is an orange and white heartthrob who knows he's cute. He's just a little shy about admitting it at first.

When you first meet him, Cadet may appear a little awkward - like someone who just walked into a party and isn't quite sure where to stand. But the moment he realizes you've noticed his good looks, his confidence starts to kick in.

And once Cadet warms up? Oh boy.

This guy turns into a certified cuddle recruit, specializing in enthusiastic head bumps and cozy snuggles. He'll happily bonk his way into your personal space as if to say "Yes, hello, I see you noticed me. I accept your admiration and also all of the pets that you have." Cadet also enjoys playtime and will happily switch between hunter and cuddle buddy depending on the moment.

If you're looking for a charming, slightly bashful sweetheart who turns into a cuddly, head-bumping machine once he knows you're a friend, Cadet is ready to report for duty.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1941 by the third female graduate from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, SAVE is an independent 501(c)(3) non-profit animal shelter dedicated to protecting the health and welfare of homeless companion animals in the greater Princeton area and beyond. Through six core programs of Rescue, Shelter, Health and Welfare, Spay/Neuter, Foster and Adoption.

The SAVE shelter facility has the capacity to house upwards of 100 animals at a time (approximately 75 cats and 25 dogs). The shelter exceeds no-kill benchmark standards and ensures that adoptable animals facing adversity are given a lifeline, a chance to flourish, and the promise of a better tomorrow.
