What I do know is that I’m ready for a brighter future with someone who will love me and give me the safe, cozy home I’ve been dreaming about. I can be a shy lady when I first meet new people. Big changes and new places make me a little nervous, so I might take a bit of time to settle in. But I promise I’m trying my best. The nice thing about me is that even when I’m unsure, I never hiss or get aggressive—I just quietly hope for a little patience and kindness while I figure things out. Once I start to feel safe, you’ll see the real me come out. I love gentle head scratches and chin rubs, and they help remind me that people can be pretty wonderful. With a little time and understanding, I’ll warm up and show you just how sweet I can be. I’m looking for a home that will let me adjust at my own pace and give me the chance to blossom into the loving companion I’m meant to be. The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society was founded in 1926 and incorporated in 1949. The Humane Society has a publicly-tendered contract with the City of Windsor to provide animal control and basic shelter services in the City. This is only a portion of the work done by our organization. In 2016 almost 12,000 animal came through the doors of our shelter and spay/neuter clinic. We can’t help them without your support.
