We don't know why she was found wandering all by herself at just 6 months old - mere months after being promised a forever home - but she's here safe with us until she finds her new family. Her love of people never wavered, but we hope she never has to experience a broken promise ever again. She currently weighs 40 lbs and is still filling out. Her breed mix is unknown, but her appearance has a Basenji-Boxer look. She is a unique beauty. She has the silliest little bouncy walk and is curious about everyone she meets. Jase is an adorable 9-year-old, 10 pound, Chihuahua mix. He looks like a miniature Basenji. He has beautiful golden eyes and a ring of white fur around his neck. This handsome little guy was found in an orchard with five other dogs when he was barely a year old. He has spent years 2 through 9 here at the sanctuary. Jase does not allow us to pick him up or hold him. Once he gets to know you, he is quite happy to stand on you to get a treat. He loves treats, especially chicken and other people food, he will eat almost any vegetable. Jase is very happy with pack life. He needs a home with another dog or two that he can follow around. He goes outside to potty with the command “Go Potty”. He will use the doggie door. He sleeps happily in a crate (although we think he would adjust to sleeping in your bed) Jase is a house dog that needs outside privileges in a secure yard. He loves to snuggle with other dogs.
