ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Cathy!  She’s a 7-month-old, 27-pound Terrier/Basenji mix with the sweetest, most sensitive little soul. Cathy can be timid with new people and unfamiliar environments, so she’ll do best with a patient adopter who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let her move at her own pace. Once she feels safe, she blossoms into a gentle, affectionate companion who loves being near her person and forms deep, loyal bonds. Cathy gains confidence from other dogs and would thrive in a home with a friendly, well-adjusted pup who can help show her the ropes and make her feel secure. Her energy level is nicely balanced—she enjoys playful puppy moments and the occasional zoomies once she’s comfortable, but she’s not over-the-top and also appreciates calm downtime. She’s fully potty trained and uses a doggy door like a pro. Cathy is simply looking for a loving home that will give her the patience and reassurance she needs to settle in and truly shine. Her adoption fee is $350.  A refundable training deposit of $100 will be also due upon adoption. Training must be provided in a timely fashion to ensure our pups become the best canine citizens. The training deposit will be refundable within 3 months of the adoption date. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Luna is a little positive child in a dog’s body. She still doesn’t know what “no” means — not because she’s bad, but because no one ever taught her. She’s like a baby who just needs patience, guidance, and love. There isn’t a single ounce of aggression in her. Even on her first day, when I bathed her, she stood calmly and trusted me completely. She loves people, craves attention, and would happily play 24/7. At night Luna is perfect. She doesn’t howl, bark, or wake anyone up. She sleeps quietly in the living room and patiently waits for her people to wake up. She doesn’t understand dog beds yet and sleeps on the couch — it feels like she may have never had a place of her own before… Luna is a blank page and a huge heart. A baby who just needs a home, love, and someone willing to teach her. She will grow into the most loyal companion.

We love our Rex, but need to re-home him. Due to our health issues and allergies and soon to be relocation, we need to find him a new loving home before the end of February 2026. Please let us know if you are interested. He is a true companion. He is an affectionate, loving dog that likes walks, toys, cuddles and curling up under a blanket or right next to his human. He loves getting baths and is great with kids. He was a rescue when we adopted him in 2018, and believe he is 7years old. He is in great health and all his shots are current. We will include food, toys, shampoos, snacks & dog food bowls. When we adopted him, his name was Rex and he already knew his name, so we never changed it. However, does also respond to the names "Sexy Rexy" and "Rexford"
