Story
She may start out a little shy… but give her a minute and she’ll absolutely steal your heart especially with those tall, expressive ears that seem to perk up just for you. This sweet girl blooms right before your eyes. Don’t miss her in action! Check out her adoption video below to see her sweet personality (and those adorable ears) for yourself. https://youtu.be/JFoWmQ1wbF8 This girl is a soft, observant sweetheart who truly bonds with her people. She takes a moment to take everything in, and once she feels comfortable, she opens up in the most beautiful way. She’s more of a “quietly hang out with my humans” kind of pup than an over the top wild child. Her thoughtful, independent spirit makes earning her trust feel extra special and once you have it, you’ll see her affectionate, wiggly side shine. We suspect Winter Winnie may be a Shiba but as with any rescue, that’s always a best guess! She’s a great size: not tiny, not huge just right. Big enough to feel sturdy and athletic, but compact enough to fit comfortably into everyday life. A medium girl with an even bigger heart. Her ears make her look extra expressive, too. When she’s curious, they probably stand even taller. When she’s happy, you can just imagine them doing that tiny little perk and tilt move that melts hearts instantly. They add so much personality to her face, confident, bright, and just a little bit goofy in the cutest way. Since Winter Winnie is currently thriving in a foster home, we’ve already seen what a wonderful roommate she is. She is fully house and potty trained, making her a reliable and easy companion indoors. She is also crate trained and treats her space as a quiet sanctuary where she can relax calmly while you’re away. Living in a foster setting has given her a great head start, and she’s ready to bring all those expert-level snuggle skills and perfect house-guest manners straight to her forever family. When it comes to other pups, she is a social girl with a gentle soul. Winter likes to take a moment to read the room. A low to medium energy companion who gives her a little time to settle in would be her absolute dream come true. Living with a foster has given her a wonderful head start, and she’s ready to bring those expert level snuggle skills wherever she goes. She’s also perfectly happy to be your one and only. She has more than enough love to fill a home all by herself! Winter Winnie has shown very promising signs when it comes to cats! She was calm, respectful, and comfortably shared space with them. While her interactions have been very positive, a sleepover with a kitty roommate would be needed to officially confirm her cat friendly status. She is a versatile girl who is apartment ready! While she’d certainly enjoy a backyard of her own for some sniffing and sunbathing. Winter is just as happy with a cozy indoor life and some nice neighborhood strolls. She’s looking for a calm, patient home that will celebrate her small wins. Whether she’s leaning in for pets or showing off her expert level snuggle skills, she’s ready to bring those perfect house guest manners straight to her forever family. She’s a sensitive soul with a playful side just waiting to fully shine. The kind of dog who bonds deeply, looks to you for reassurance, and then surprises you with her joyful wiggles once she feels safe. Story
Meet Iago — your very own fox-in-disguise with a PhD in “Human Studies” 🦊🎓 At 40 or so lbs, Iago is a perfectly portable bundle of fluff, brains, and side-eye. With his fox-like looks and expressive face, he tends to stop people in their tracks—but don’t let the model exterior fool you. Behind that cute face is a highly sophisticated operating system running thoughts like: “Interesting… but have you considered my idea?” Iago is incredibly smart, well-trained, and always thinking. He knows his basics and learns quickly, but he’s not here to be a robot. He’s here to collaborate. In fact, he may occasionally “test” the humans in his life just to make sure they’re consistent, fair, and worthy of his considerable talents. (Don’t worry—he’s rooting for you.) He thrives on clear communication, consistency, and mutual respect. Bring calm, confident energy, and Iago will match it like a mirror with opinions. When it comes to problem-solving, Iago likes to… explore the full menu. If you show him how to do something, he may first try it his way (or three other ways) before circling back to yours with a thoughtful “ah, yes, that is efficient.” Give him a little time to process and some gentle reminders, and you’ll see that brilliant brain click into place. He’s not stubborn—he’s conducting research. With his intelligence and athleticism, trainers have suggested Iago would be an excellent candidate for agility or other dog sports. He’s got that “put me in, coach” energy and would absolutely thrive with a job, a challenge, or an obstacle course to conquer like a tiny, fluffy overachiever. Like many bright dogs, Iago does take his food bowl seriously. He can be a bit protective of it, but he’s already been working hard on building positive associations with people during mealtime and has shown great progress. With continued thoughtful handling, he’s more than capable of continuing that growth. And once the workday is done? Iago clocks out hard. This clever little fox transforms into a full-time cuddle professional—snuggling in close, offering hugs, and rolling over for belly rubs with impressive dedication. It’s a delightful contrast: part intellectual, part athlete, part marshmallow. Iago is looking for someone who enjoys training, appreciates a dog with a sense of humor, and is excited to build a relationship based on trust, respect, and the occasional negotiation. If you’re ready for a dog who will challenge you, charm you, make you laugh, and then curl up next to you like he didn’t just outsmart you five minutes ago… Iago is ready to meet his match.
