For further info on the adoption process, please visit our home page and check out the "Adopt a Dog" section, which has thorough instructions.  All our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and  fully vaccinated before adoption; they have been wormed, bathed, socialized, walked daily and much loved; each adoptee leaves with a leash, collar, and all medical records.   Our prices are higher than the shelters' because we nurse the dogs through their illnesses and get them needed surgeries and dentals. We also spend time socializing. Furthermore, unlike shelters, rescues do not get financial aid from the government and must rely on donations, grants, and adoption fees. Our fees for adults start at $150 and usually go up to $750. Young adults that are high in demand may be a little over $750.00. For puppies and purebreds, we charge up to $1000. The lower end is for dogs who have been here a while. The good news is that, because rescues fall under the "charity" category, the fees for our dogs are officially donations and are therefore tax deductible. You can think of it as donating to a worthy cause and getting a dog in return!  Sponsor Me Beagles & Buddies must find ways to raise money so we can continue saving dogs. Your tax-deductible donation keeps our rescue kennel operating!  Hours Friday:  10 am to 3 pm Saturday:  10 am to 3 pm Sunday: 10 am to 3 pm Monday: CLOSED Tuesday: CLOSED Wednesday: CLOSED Thursday: CLOSED &#226&#128&#139 Weekday appointments may be available.  We are a small staff and do our best to accommodate your needs. **Note that during COVID, we are not holding open houses on any day. Please email us for an appointment and include your application (found on our website, beaglesandbuddies.com, under "Forms"). Most appointments will be Friday through Sunday, though other days may also be available. We usually schedule one appointment per hour. Allow 1-2 hours for your appointment. Story
Hi Guys! My name is Sherlock!  I am just an incredible boy! I am Only 7 months old and super playful, loving and affectionate! My  rescue mom is so in love with me, but she told me I need my own special family. I am very much still a puppy  and I love playing and giving kisses!  Currently I weigh a bit over 36 pounds.  I would be so happy to snuggle in bed with my person, after a fun day of playing and enjoying my days with a loving family!   Now my rescue mom wants to let all of you know more about me!   Here she is... Hi, this is Sherlock's rescue mom!  Sherlock is a happy boy that needs a forever home. He is a purebred Basset Hound and 7 months old.  He is currently on Royal Canin Puppy GI food, but he should be tapering off eventually.  He is healthy and active with a true hound temperament!  Sherlock walks  on leash and loves playing and giving a lot of kisses.  Sherlock does vocalize his feelings and speaks to his people and other pets in the home .  This very typical of hounds. He will tell you with various howls and barks, what he wants.   We are looking for a breed experienced home for Sherlock! He would not be suitable for condo or apartment living, due to his hound howls. Sherlock can be placed with or without another dog.  He would love a home where he has his person home with him and is not left alone for long periods of time. *All our adoptions go out initially on a foster to adopt period. Adoption fee includes all vaccines, neuter,  and registered microchip. ##2595083##

Story
The application is the first step in the adoption process, so if you are interested in adopting please fill out the online adoption application  first by visiting our website at www.dachshundpaws.org    Wilbur is a 2 year old Basset Hound. Wilbur‘s family decided they didn’t have time for a young dog, so they were looking for a rescue for him. He was in Mexico, and needed vet care, so a wonderful foundation reached out to us to see if we could take him. We gladly agreed. He has been treated and is ready for his new family. Wilbur is always happy! He is a typical hound dog and vocalizes his feelings. He loves other dogs and is looking for a home with a playmate. He loves people and loves to be snuggled. Wilbur is a great dog and is looking for an equally as great family.  Wilbur‘s adoption fee: $600We do not have a kennel or facility to visit, all dogs are kept in foster homes until their forever homes are found.Adoption Process: Once an approved application is on file, we will then set up a home visit. At that time we will bring the dog to the home in which you will all be sharing. We ask the entire family to be there that day. If we all agree on the placement, then the dog will stay with you that day.  Please visit our website at www.dachshundpaws.org    November 5, 2025, 7:25 pm
