Story
15 lbs. About 6 years old. He's a sweet, although slightly skittish at the moment because of his new surroundings, young adult boy.  He sits on your lap, walks okay on a leash [not his fave thing to do right now, but he's getting the hang of it].  He takes a few minutes to trust, but once he gets a few treats and sees you as a nice person, which he will, he's all in for some TLC and close time.  Important to allow him to become friends with you at his own speed....giving yummy treats helps.  He had nice meet n greet with Oliver on 2/15/25*Note that young dogs and pure breeds are at the highest end of our prices.* Please find our applications and valuable information under  "Adopt a dog"* on our website:  *www.beaglesandbuddies.com* and email your application to beaglesandbuddies@gmail.com. Let us know your preference of appointment day/time and which dogs you are interested in and we will do our best to accommodate and email you the closest appointment available. Please allow us up to a week to get back to you. Most appointments will be Friday-Sunday, 10 am - 2 pm, for an hour. *Note bring any other dog/s and the entire family to your meet and greet at B&B.* A complimentary training manual is included with each adoption, authored by terristeuben.com. Check out her website - she is fabulous! B&B is glad to be open during the pandemic. We know the value and comfort of a loving pet companion and are doing our best to help the dogs and folks who need them. We update our website daily and are always rescuing, vetting, rehabilitating, socializing. &#226&#128&#139 Are you my furrever family? For further info on the adoption process, please visit our home page and check out the "Adopt a Dog" section, which has thorough instructions.  All our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and  fully vaccinated before adoption; they have been wormed, bathed, socialized, walked daily and much loved; each adoptee leaves with a leash, collar, and all medical records.   Our prices are higher than the shelters' because we nurse the dogs through their illnesses and get them needed surgeries and dentals. We also spend time socializing. Furthermore, unlike shelters, rescues do not get financial aid from the government and must rely on donations, grants, and adoption fees. Our fees for adults start at $150 and usually go up to $750. Young adults that are high in demand may be a little over $750.00. For puppies and purebreds, we charge up to $1000. The lower end is for dogs who have been here a while. The good news is that, because rescues fall under the "charity" category, the fees for our dogs are officially donations and are therefore tax deductible. You can think of it as donating to a worthy cause and getting a dog in return!  Sponsor Me Beagles & Buddies must find ways to raise money so we can continue saving dogs. Story
Max Lucas is 10 years old and 30 lbs.  His eyes are hazel. Walks well on a leash and enjoys his walks. He exercises well with most dogs in his area. He came in a few years ago after having had a couple snapping incidents in a foster home. So he will need patience and time to adjust in a new home.  We've worked with him and he has mellowed a lot. He is food motivated - and so he will love anyone that gives him treats!  Go slow and don't surprise him - he does guard his food. So feed separately from other dog/s and watch picking food up or moving it while near him.   He is well worth the investment to help him relax and trust people.  *Note bring any other dog/s and the entire family to your meet and greet at B&B.* *Note that young dogs and pure breeds are at the highest end of our prices.* Please find our applications and valuable information under  "Adopt a dog"* on our website:  *www.beaglesandbuddies.com* and email your application to beaglesandbuddies@gmail.com. Let us know your preference of appointment day/time and which dogs you are interested in and we will do our best to accommodate and email you the closest appointment available. Story
Cruiser is @3 years old and 14 lbs.  He came in August 2023 with a broken hip and a fractured right rear leg - he was found in the street after being hit by a car. For the hip, he had an FHO surgery and a metal plate in his leg.  Very simple exercises help - we can show you in a minute...basically stretching the injured leg which encourages him to put weight on it. He is skittish of people, but time in a foster home helped. He started learning house training, crate training, and leash walking. He was fine with the cats and the farm animals - horses, chickens, goats, and sheep. He is most comfortable with people when other dogs are there- especially small or medium dogs that can read body cues. He will need patience from his new owner to slowly build trust. But he is a good boy. The way to his heart is special treats - e.g one time a volunteer gave him real bacon and he was so happy he let her pet him. We're not sure of his mix - he has beagle coloring, but is smaller than a beagle; ears a bit shorter.   we adore him; he is one of our house dogs and usually sleeps on the futon in front room; comes into my bedroom to get a treat and often snag a doggie bed there with a chum.  He will steal your heart...it's a good thing...*Note that young dogs and pure breeds are at the highest end of our prices.* Please find our applications and valuable information under  "Adopt a dog"* on our website:  *www.beaglesandbuddies.com* and email your application to beaglesandbuddies@gmail.com. Let us know your preference of appointment day/time and which dogs you are interested in and we will do our best to accommodate and email you the closest appointment available. Story
Solo is a WONDERFUL 9 year old, male that is very, very intelligent. His previous owners did spend the time and put forth the effort to house train and make sure he knows, understands and listens to daily commands. He also walks excellent on the leash, and is crate trained as well. Loves going on car rides, out on walks, especially if he's able to go exploring around new places. Solo keeps up with all the dogs here that are half his age, if not wears them out. Sure doesn't seem like he's 9, that's for sure.          We also nicknamed him Gunner, which he really seems to like and respond to as well. You won't have to worry about any critters or anything sneaking up and getting you when he's around either, he is extremely attentive and aware while he's roaming around and will let you know if or when he sees something you may want to know about as well. Solo is the most pawesome dog anyone could ask for.         Solo runs around here at B&B with free reign, not only because he's always wanting to explore, but also he's great with any other dogs, from really small chi's to great big mastiffs. Doesn't show any aggression and he's smart and quick enough to be the bigger dog and turn tail and continue about his business if another dog does want to be mean. If you think Solo/Gunner would be the addition to your lovely family, then please give us a call or email us any time to schedule an appointment for a meet and greet at our sanctuary. Please remember to bring the entire family and any other dogs you may have already so everyone can get acquainted at the same time.
