Meet Tania — the sweetest little soul who just wants to be loved! At 4 years old and just 22 pounds, Tania is a petite little lady with a heart of gold! Don’t let her pictures fool you — she looks much bigger than she actually is. She’s a short, Basset-sized girl with the most precious personality. Tania was rescued from a hoarding house, and while we don’t know everything she’s been through, it’s clear that life hasn’t always shown her the kindness she deserves. She is INCREDIBLY sweet, gentle, and docile, but also very timid. There’s not an aggressive bone in this little girl’s body. She’s simply learning that people can be kind and that love is something she deserves, too. And oh, the way she reacts to affection will absolutely melt your heart. When you give her love, she looks up at you with the sweetest expression of genuine surprise, almost as if she’s asking, “Really? You like me?” It’s heartbreaking and beautiful all at once. But once you earn Tania’s trust, something magical happens. She becomes your sweet, calm little shadow, quietly following you around, soaking up your affection, and just wanting to be near her person. Tania absolutely LOVES other dogs! They give her confidence and help her feel safe in the world, so we would especially love to see her in a home with another friendly, confident pup who can show her the ropes. She’s not looking for a loud, chaotic life full of excitement. She’s looking for gentle hands, patient hearts, a cozy place to rest, and someone who will celebrate all the little moments as she continues to blossom. Tania may take a little time to give you her whole heart, but once she does, you’ll have the most loyal, loving little companion you could ever imagine. This sweet girl has spent enough of her life wondering if she’s worthy of love. We can’t wait for her to find a family who will spend the rest of her life showing her that she absolutely is. Tania is still in Puerto Rico and will be flying to her forever home or an adoptive home ASAP - whichever opens first.

Hi! My name is Bob! A few months ago I was found as a stray in Pinellas County, sadly no one came to find me and I had to spend my time at the shelter. The volunteers there truly loved me and I loved them. They ensured that I got out often and let me carry and bury my toys wherever I wanted! I'm pretty sure they would dig them up and give them back to me, but that's ok, I would just find new places to hide them. I was a part of a special program called the Project Pup Program because I was a little upset when the shelter veterinary staff tried to give me my vaccines and when strangers approached my kennel, but they all fell in love with me later once they realized I was just scared of all that was happening to me in this new environment. The Project Pup team ensured that I received daily enrichment, lots of time out and met a lot of new people. I graduated from the program, my trainer took me home to foster for a bit, and then she was able to get me to First Ladies Farm for a chance at finding my family! By the way, my trainer from the program will be with me for the rest of my life if you want her (at no charge to you!) and I would love to see her again. Plus she will help me transition to your home and go over any concerns you may have. Things you should know about me: (besides the fact that I’m so adorable!) I am a low rider! I am a good eater and am very treat-motivated and am working on the following skills: Sit, Stay, Off (for jumping), leash handling and reigning in my lizard/squirrel hunting. I don't really respond to my name so feel free to find another one for me - my trainer has called me 'little guy' for awhile and I'm kind of fond of that as a nickname. While many dogs are scared of things like thunder and fireworks, I don't really have any reaction to those - in fact, I can sleep right through them! I REALLY love my toys! Some of my stuffies I get a little protective over at first. I just want to make sure that you aren't going to take it away from me. I've had so many things taken from me over the past few months, that I want to hold on to the things I like the most. It doesn't last long though, and I'll drop the toy when I'm ready to share and play with you. I really like most other dogs, but I would prefer to schedule buddy walks or play dates VS having another one in my home. I don't really like to share my things with other dogs and would prefer to have my home, bowls, toys, etc. to just be mine. I LOVE going for car rides and outings! And I love meeting new people. I can be a little head shy at times with new people, so please ask strangers to pet me on the side vs coming over my head at first. But, if there is a place you want to go and take me with you, I'm down for it! Just give me a couple of weeks at home first to get used to you, my new home and new routine first. Then I will love to join you to go anywhere! Please harness me when you take me out. I am working on my leash walking, but I can get a little strong when I see a squirrel. My harness keeps me safe and balanced and it makes me feel good to walk with it on. Speaking of going out, I am very house trained! I hardly ever had an accident in my kennel at the shelter and didn't have any at my foster home either. By the way, I hope you like to snuggle! My favorite thing to do is to take naps cuddled up with my favorite person. I have this whole Netflix & chill thing down! PS. The ladies at First Ladies Farm told me to add: if you have always wanted to adopt Beatrice, who is not up for adoption, come meet Bob!
