Story
Tibbers was transferred from Glynn County Animal Services. He is another short and stout guy, who was heartworm positive on arrival here. Of course he will be treated here by our veterinarian. It was difficult to get a great photo of Tibbers, as he was far too interested in the camera and treats. He also was absolutely not a fan of the squeaker we use to get their attention. Tibbers appears to be a Bassett Hound mix, with a great personality. We believe he would be amazing in most households. Most Bassets we have encountered have been big couch potatoes, low energy and very affectionate. Email reception@hsscg.org for more information about our foster to adopt program or just stop in. We are open 11 to 4 Tuesday through Saturday. Tibbers is neutered, microchipped, and current on core vaccines. Tibbers would love to recuperate from his heartworm treatment while lounging on your sofa with you.

Story
Gator is an absolutely adorable purebred Beagle. The Good Samaritans who surrendered him had Gator for several weeks before bringing him in. Consequently, they were able to give us some pertinent information about him. Gator is approximately 5 years old and very sweet. Like most beagles, he will most likely make a great family dog. Beagles are famous for their affability and affection and are just the right size! The finder said Gator was somewhat housebroken, but had a few accidents. He also adjusted well to being in their home and loved to lounge on the couch. Email reception@hsscg.org for an appointment or stop in Tuesday through Saturday 11 to 4. Gator is neutered, microchipped, current on core vaccines and has tested negative for heartworms. Gator would love to be in a home again, even if you're a Bulldawg fan.

What we know about Pumpkin A006141: -2 yo- 40lbs- Female (spayed)- UTD on shots- On Flea/Tick and heartworm prevention-Microchipped-HW status- HW+ (easily treated by any vet. Has completed a month of doxy and currently on HW preventative (slow kill HW treatment)-Dog Tested- Not been tested but did come in with 6 other adult dogs and some of her puppies. So is likely dog friendly. A meet and greet is always recommended for any potential furry siblings. Dog tests can be done at request.-Cat Tested- Not been tested but can be done at request-Medium energy level. Loves to go on walks and get in the play yards to stretch her legs, but also loves to sunbathe and snuggle.-Came from a home previously that had kids, but I would recommend either going to a no kid household or 10+ kids.-Would do best in a semi calm home (will explain more below)Pumpkin was part of an animal cruelty case where it was speculated that the dogs were both physically abused and neglected. All the dogs from this case came to the shelter in rough physical shape and they were mentally shutting down. Pumpkin specifically had multiple puppies with her, one of which was special needs. We’ve also been told that her other puppies were taken from her and she likely witnessed their deaths. She and the other dogs from this case are learning that all humans are not bad. She will need a home that is understanding of her past and is willing to work and love her through.Once Pumpkin warms up to people and is able to be herself she does the happiest prance! (Pumpkin’s- Intake date was: 12.1.23) If you think Pumpkin could be the perfect addition to your family, please call 912-554-7500, send an email animalservices@glynncounty-ga.gov, or visit 190 Carl Alexander Way, Brunswick, GA 31525. The shelter is open Tuesday-Saturday 12-5PM Sundays 1-4PM and are technically closed to the public on Monday’s but are willing to work with people if needed.
