With his adorable low-rider build and fluffy charm, he turns heads everywhere he goes. Howie is a friendly, happy boy who absolutely loves kids and enjoys being part of the family. He gets along great with other dogs and even cats, making him a wonderful addition to a multi-pet home. He already knows how to sit and is currently working on his basic commands — he’s smart, eager to learn, and loves positive attention. This cute and unusual guy is looking for a loving home where he can keep learning, playing, and soaking up all the affection he can get. Story
Meet Petey Petey is a shelter favorite. Since arriving, this low-rider pup has charmed everyone with his happy personality and easy-going demeanor. He is the proverbial social butterfly and a never met a stranger kind of dog. We pulled Petey from a high-kill shelter. He had been found wandering and was picked up as a stray. Petey is a two-year old Basset hound mix. He weighs just 40-45 lbs. He has a warm friendly face, a beautiful short-haired coat and a wide smile. He’s extremely gentle and affectionate. He loves pets and scratches and just absorbs all the love he can get. He enjoys his yard time and loves seeing the other dogs in the yards and does great with cats. He greets his doggie neighbors with a happy tail wag and sniffs. He’s super playful. Petey walks well on a leash. He rides well in a car and would love to go on adventures with his people. Petey seems to be housetrained already, which is a big bonus! Petey needs a fenced yard given that he was found wandering. We don’t want him to wander off and get lost into the system again. If you are looking for a great family dog, a happy boy and one who will bring so much love to your life, Petey may be for you. Petey will be able to go home in March after he’s neutered. At just under 40 pounds, she’s the perfect medium size and loves being close to her people. Pheobie is calm, affectionate, and happiest when she’s relaxing nearby or enjoying a peaceful stroll.   Maxus Haven is a 13.5 year old Basset Hound mix weighing about the same as Pheobie. He’s a laid-back, loyal companion with a sweet nature and an easygoing spirit. Maxus enjoys cozy naps, soft beds, and simply being part of the family.   These two are deeply bonded and take comfort in each other’s presence. They are past the puppy stage and bring all the wonderful qualities of senior dogs - calm energy, loving hearts, and grateful companionship.
