Story
We are seniors and adopted peanut and piglet ( daughter and mother) from a shelter near Chattanooga TN in 3/23 after our dog passed of old age and illness in 2/23. We had planned to adopt a poodle but she turned out to have serious biting issues. We love the girls but they were untrained and can’t deal with other dogs though they are good with our 5 year old granddaughter. We can’t train them we did get them vaccinated and spayed and microchipped

Story
Wendy was a very shy & timid girl when she was first brought into our shelter. Now that she has come out of her shell, she is the most loving and sweetest girl here. She enjoys going on a nice walk on our trail or just being outside playing fetch. Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet. Fees:Dogs over 6 months old: $100Puppies under 6 months: $200. Cats and Kittens are $75 ($65 without microchip). For your convenience you can fill out an adoption application for any of our current residents at www.moaspets.com. Story
Slinky (2yr) is a lovely dog but unfortunately he was just not right for our family. He is a very active dog that requires a lot of attention and exercise so we've been struggling with meeting his mental/physical needs. I didn't socialize him correctly as a puppy so we've been struggling with his excessive barking at everything. I'm hoping in finding someone that is patient and will be able to provide him training and be able to work on his problems. He barks at any person/dog he sees. I'm not sure how exactly he is with other dogs as the only one he's been around other than in passing has been my sister's dog and it took a couple visits before he was comfortable with them. He tends to jump up on people a lot and when he's over excited he gets nippy/mouthy so I'd rather he go to a kid-free home. He's vocal and scared of things which he'll let you know. I unfortunately cannot afford training but I 100% believe that with training and the appropriate exercise he'd be an amazing dog.
