Hugo is a charming mix of affection, independence, and just the right amount of “I’ll decide when I’m ready.” Hugo is the kind of dog who enjoys being close to his people, but he also appreciates having his own space. If he wants some attention (and he often does!), he has a sweet way of asking — he’ll gently bump your hand with his head to let you know he’s ready for pets. Once you start, he’s happy to lean in and enjoy the affection. After some quality cuddle time, Hugo is perfectly content to find a cozy spot of his own and relax. One of Hugo’s favorite hobbies is watching the world go by. Whether he’s sitting on the front porch and observing the activity around him or heading out for a walk, he enjoys taking in all the sights and smells. Sometimes he’s an enthusiastic explorer, eager to investigate every interesting scent, and other times he’s happy to take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the moment. Hugo can be a little thoughtful when meeting new people. He likes to take his time, observe, and decide when someone has earned a spot in his circle. Respect his pace, and he’ll reward you with trust and affection. Try to rush him, and he may remind you that Hugo makes his own choices! A few tasty treats go a long way toward winning his heart. Meet Minnie! If loud and goofy basset hounds are your type, Minnie is sure to win you over. Minnie loves to romp around the yard, play “chase” with dog friends, and of course take sniffaris any chance she can. She has been working on potty training and crate training, and seems to be food motivated. She has a social, happy personality at home with her people, but can be shy in new situations. She would love a home where she can continue to learn about exploring the world, but is also happy as a clam to be a home body with all kinds of fun and enrichment. Minnie is a smidge taller than some basset hounds, but photos make her look even taller. Minnie is fully vetted and just over a year old. She is ready to head home when her new family comes along! Meet Tonka Tank. Also known as Mr.T Who is or soon will be a year old. Tank is a sweet, easy, playful, well-rounded active fun lovely person, just a good happy boy. He can be timid and a bit unsure but if you are confident he will be too. Tank loves his walks as much as he loves his toys. He walks pretty nice on a leash and I dare to say, almost perfect. Daily walks, some toys, and plenty of affection are more than enough to keep him happy. Tank has excellent manners but remembers he is still just a puppy. He is crate and house-trained, and good with people and other dogs. I will cat-test him upon request. With a little guidance and effort, Tank will continue his way to becoming the best family dog. Tank is a very simple happy happy-go-lucky goofy excited boy. His bark is deep and it adds to his size and people feel discouraged. Though, he, truly is just a big dork who is just as insecure and unsure as those who are of him. Tank is smart but not in a challenging way. Tonka Tank is fully vetted, and up to date on all age-appropriate vaccines, neutered, dewormed, chipped, and comes with all paperwork for proof. A foster, or best his forever home wanted. Updated: 2/1/2023 www.animalhousesanctuary.org We believe training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues that arise, need to be addressed and/or rewarded. Understanding that continued training is a lifetime commitment, is very important. Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense. Meet & Greets are a required before proceeding with an adoption. We DO NOT ship any of our pets.
