Story
Meet Peggy! Peggy is a 4-month-old mixed breed puppy who weighs about 15 pounds and is expected to grow into a medium-sized adult (approximately 35–45 lbs). We suspect she has some beagle and terrier heritage. Her foster describes her as a “spicy little sweetheart.” She may be shy at first, but she warms up quickly and becomes a loving, affectionate companion. Based on Peggy’s appearance, her littermates, and her 47-lb mother, she appears to be a terrier or bully-type mix, possibly with some hound influence. Breed is a best guess. Peggy adores children, does great with cats and large dogs, and is fearless, friendly, and curious. She loves being close to her people and is the perfect lap puppy when playtime is over. Peggy is looking for a home ready to continue puppy training and give her a lifetime of love. If you’re searching for a sweet, kid-loving pup who will grow into a perfectly sized family companion, Peggy may be your perfect match. All of our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines. Adoption fee for all dogs/pups: $225. Our dogs are in foster homes across the KC metro. We do not have a shelter facility. Apply here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAUS/Dog

Story
Meet Al! 3.5 Months Old (DOB 10/06/2026) 19lbs on 01/29/26 Beagle / Cattle Dog Mix (Best Guess) Estimated adult weight: ~40–50 lbs Al is an adorable, tri-colored puppy with soulful eyes, the sweetest little expression, and a heart full of resilience. This boy has already come so far in such a short time. Al and his littermates came from an extremely difficult situation — a home without basic utilities for either the people or the dogs. When they first arrived in rescue, the puppies were underweight and dehydrated. Thanks to good nutrition, safety, and lots of care, Al is now thriving and showing everyone exactly what a happy, healthy puppy is meant to be. In his foster home, Al is doing wonderfully: Friendly and social with other dogs Curious and growing confident as he settles in Playful, sweet, and ready to learn With his Beagle/Cattle Dog–type mix, Al may grow into a smart, active companion who will enjoy playtime, walks, and having a family to share life with. He’s still a baby, so he’ll benefit from continued puppy training, routine, and all the love that comes with raising a young dog. Al is ready for a fresh start and a forever home that will keep helping him flourish. Al's breed mix is a best guess based on appearance; his exact breed makeup is unknown. All of our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines. Adoption fee for all dogs/pups: $225. Our dogs are in foster homes across the KC metro. Story
Meet Wally — The King of Couch Potatoes 💛 Wally is a 5-year-old Beagle boy with a heart of gold and the softest, most soulful brown eyes. He’s currently rocking a curvy 50 pounds, but his ideal weight is closer to 35—and he’s already on his journey toward a healthier, happier life. With a simple routine, yummy low-cal treats, and gentle exercise, this sweetheart will absolutely thrive. And speaking of exercise—Wally LOVES going outside. He’s a big fan of walks and is truly a perfect gentleman on leash. He would adore a walking buddy who’ll let him stop to sniff, explore, and take in all the scents the world has to offer. Classic beagle joy. Wally arrived needing some TLC. His nails were overgrown, his skin was itchy and uncomfortable, and it was clear he hadn’t been receiving the care he deserved. Now he’s finally getting consistent comfort, medical attention, and love—and he’s already on the mend! At home, Wally is the definition of easygoing. He’s a lazy couch potato who lives for naps, snuggles, and cozy window-seat snoozes while you’re away. He sleeps beautifully through the night, tells you when he needs to go potty, and does not beg for food. He’s such a gentleman. This guy is also independent in just the right ways: • He loves squeaky rubber toys, • Doesn’t really care to wrestle or play with his doggy foster brother, • Isn’t crate trained, but does fantastic left home alone, • And he’s an excellent car rider! Wally has shown very minor resource guarding around food, but he does wonderfully when meals are separated—simply placing his bowl across the room or in a different room works perfectly. He’s good about using his voice to communicate when he needs a little space, and he has had zero issues with his 75-lb, 8-year-old male foster brother. He’s great with other dogs of all sizes, cat-friendly, and was reported to be kid-friendly in his previous home. His personality is mellow, sweet, and so full of beagle charm. Wally is ready for a family who will love him unconditionally, cheer him on through his weight-loss journey, and give him the warm, cozy home he’s always deserved. If you’re looking for a snuggly, gentle companion who’s happiest by your side or strolling the neighborhood with you, Wally might just be your perfect match. 💛 ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt.
