Story
Clyde has survived the unimaginable. During the artic temperatures he was on a chain with minimal shelter and no regular feedings. He survived...others did not. Clyde has some MAJOR food issues. He was deprived for so long with such sporadic feedings that it will take him quite awhile to realize he will not be hungry anymore. The investigative team with the Missouri Humane Society helped with this situation and they took several of the adult dogs. We had committed to 2. Clyde was one of the ones we were given. He was having a very difficult time gaining weight at the humane society. This isn't uncommon...a dog that doesn't handle being caged well will sometimes spin/react poorly and be unable to hold their weight and gaining weight would be really difficult. We are also a facility based rescue...so we were unsure if he'd do better with us...but he has THRIVED. Clyde is now a tank lol and loving life. He's sweet with people, and good with dogs for the most part. Seems to prefer females and best to feed him separately. Clyde has completed the first half of his heartworm treatment and has one more month of treatment to go thru. We'd LOVE to find him a foster to adopt home. His photos do not do him justice. He's probably a basset pitty mix. He's got short little legs and looks so much taller than he actually is. Follow us on Facebook to keep updated on him! Search for Autumn Acres Animal Rescue. At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters. We take in special cases some of which will stay with us as a sanctuary dog.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect Dog this means they have special needs and special requirements for potential adopters. If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect RESIDENT this animal is NOT available for adoption and is one of our sanctuary residents. We list them on our sites because they still matter and they still need donations to help with their long term care.Check out our website for more information: http://www.autumnacres.org
