Story
Bailey is a sweet, social, and charming 5-year-old Basset Hound looking for a loving home. She has wonderful house manners, does not need to be crated, and thrives with someone who is home often—ideally retired or working from home—since she isn’t used to being alone for long periods. True to her hound nature, Bailey loves to sniff and explore and will do best with a yard and daily walks. When she catches a scent, she’s determined, so a confident handler is important. Bailey has a classic basset personality: affectionate, playful, a little stubborn, and full of character. She enjoys squeaky toys, couch time, and being adored. She would do best as the only pet and in a home with adults or teenagers. If you’re looking for a loyal, funny companion with lots of basset charm, Bailey may be the perfect fit. Fill out an application at www.soardogs.org to meet Bailey and let her steal your heart! Adoption donation required. This covers altering, DAP series vaccinations to date of adoption, Bordetella Vaccination, Rabies vaccination if over four months, Microchip, Deworming, heartworm test (if over 8 months), monthly flea/heartworm prevention to date, grooming, full veterinary examination, and temperament evaluation. All SOAR dogs go through a ten-day quarantine period to ensure they are healthy, before being adopted. We do not operate on a first come first serve basis, but screen applicants in order to find the best fit for our adoptable dogs.

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌟🐾 Meet Gypsy — Short Legs, Big Heart, Still Waiting 💛🐾 Gypsy has been waiting… and waiting… and waiting. And honestly? She’s waited far too long for a girl this special. At 2 years old and 28 pounds, Gypsy is a delightful blend of Cattle Dog smarts and Basset Hound charm — think low-rider body, big-dog energy, and a personality that could light up a room. She’s basically the off-road model of a best friend: compact, sturdy, and always ready for an adventure. Gypsy LOVES her walks and is getting better and better on leash every day. She’s happiest when she’s outside, exploring the yard, supervising chores, or keeping an eye out for squirrels (her self-appointed job, and she takes it very seriously). When playtime winds down, she’s just as content following her favorite human around like a loyal little shadow. She’s playful, affectionate, and full of goofy charm. Toys are fun. Shoelaces are very intriguing. And her signature low-rider zoomies? Absolutely legendary. 🐾 Gypsy’s Highlights: ✅ 2 years old, 28 lbs ✅ Dog-friendly ✅ House & crate trained ✅ Loves walks and outdoor time ✅ Sweet, silly, and full of personality ✅ Equal parts sass, snuggles, and sunshine While Gypsy does great with other dogs, cats are an unknown — mostly because Gypsy believes squirrels are public enemy #1 — so she may prefer a home without feline roommates. What Gypsy really wants, though, isn’t much. She wants a family who will love her quirks, laugh at her goofy legs, and finally give her the forever home she’s been patiently waiting for. She’s ready to be someone’s hiking buddy, couch companion, and daily dose of happiness. 💛 Gypsy has so much love to give — she just needs someone to give her a chance. Short legs. Big heart. Endless loyalty. ✨ Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let Gypsy finally stop waiting and start living the life she deserves. 🐾💛
