Story
Meet Tic, Tac, and Toe! These adorable little boys are around 10 weeks old and have the absolute cutest little stumpy legs. We aren’t sure of their exact breed mix but it’s possible there is some Corgi, Dachshund, or Bassett hound in there. They all weigh around 8 pounds right now, and will likely be close to 30-40 pounds full grown. They’re all super playful, not just with other dogs but with people too! They’re doing great using puppy pads in the house and they all sleep together in a kennel at night. If you’re in the market for a new addition to your family, right here they are! Tic, Tac, and Toe have not yet been neutered but that is included with the adoption. They have already been microchipped and kept current on vaccines and monthly preventatives. For the first steps of adoption, please be sure to submit an application here: https://humanesocietyofwilkes.org/adopt/application/julians For questions you can email the foster home at julianshumate@gmail.com and expect an email response within a week of applying.

Story
(DOB 07/15/2022) Diane is a short stack with a bundle of playful energy! Her smile radiates as she explores, throws her toys in the air or is part of a great game of fetch with her people or goofing off with her doggie friends. She'd love another playful pup in her forever home to be her best buddy. And if that pup loves a good game of chase, then Diane is definitely going to be jumping in and being apart of that! Diane iss a true people lover who enjoys belly rubs and affection. She quickly makes friends with "strangers" and is happy to say hello to anyone passing by. She weighs in around 40lbs and is a great size...not too big and not too small; she is just right to be the perfect petite companion. Diane would love a 4ft + fenced inyard where she can romp around to her heart's content. She does LOVE being outside. She also loves walks and exploring the world around her. She is good on a leash but needs some work because she will pull if she sees a bird or squirrel scurring by...the little hound or terrier in her definitely gets her nose going! Diane loves treats and dental chews and will all but sell her soul for some yummy snacks. As a smart and slightly mischievous girl, she’s always up for a new challenge, making her a perfect candidate for training to keep that clever mind of hers entertained. Because of her energy level a home with little tykes is probably not a good fit but kids who want to play and run around in the fenced in back yard with her would be great. Though another dog isn't absolutely required for Diane, she would likely be happiest with a home with a fun and playful 4-legged friend. If not, her new family would need to be very committed to lots of daily activities to burn off her physical energy and use her active brain or ensure she can go to doggie day care regularly...she loves going! Diane understands some people just love kitties, but she just isn't interested in having them in her fur-ever home. She can be a little mischevious and you can find her "hunting in the kitchen" if you don't keep a watchful eye on her she may be quick to try and grab a tasty nibble off the counter. Heck, if you are good cook, she's just trying to tell you how delicious your food is; nonetheless, a behavior we are working with Diane on. Diane is crate trained, potty trained, so no worries there.  If you adore adorable Diane as much as we do, get your application in quickly!  As part of Diane’s $300 adoption fee, she will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on her monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little girl, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Diane, you can fill in an online application for her under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2149766##

Story
Hello, this is Bowie! He is about 5-6 months old. He is a Pitbull-Hound Mix (not what was listed, I just couldn't find his specific breed). He is super handsome, energetic, and loving! He is still very young, so he could use more training. However, he is trainable, and he picked up on basics pretty quickly, so I have no doubt he will adapt to a new environment just as quickly. He has very bright and energetic energy, so he needs love, affection, and playtime!

Story
Jacques “Jock” is a sweet, happy boy with the most beautiful markings. Seriously, pictures do not do him justice! He is a little shy at first, but his nubby little tail never stops wagging. He LOVES the outdoors and true to his hound dog roots, he gets very excited on his walks, every blade of grass must be inspected thoroughly. Jacques is still working on leash manners, but I think he would make a great running companion in the future! Jacques is currently sharing a home with two dogs and two cats. He does great with them all! Having an older dog to show him the ropes would be beneficial, but not a requirement. He is perfectly content playing independently. Jacques is currently working on being housebroken and is doing fantastically, but due to his age, he will still need someone to continue working with him. He's doing really well with letting his foster family know when he needs to go out and will surely pick up that routine in his new home given the time to adjust. Jacques does stay in the crate occasionally during the day and overnight (he sleeps through the night in his crate with no fuss), but if you are home, he prefers to be where the people are. He has a big howl in a little body, so apartment living may not be for him. Jacques is a high-energy boy who thrives with lots of activity and stimulation! He is currently working on “sit”, “wait”, and “leave it”, he is very smart and catches on quickly.

Story
Low. Cute. Hilarious. A little dumb. That's this sweet dopey dude. Just a treat and treasure. He is being fostered with dogs and cats and just loves all people he's ever met. He is a love bug and just happy to be wherever he is at that time. His body is deceivingly wee! His face and head are large, but then he's got a small, tiny body! It's hilarious and his personality fits it perfectly. Smokey is not available for adoption but you can donate towards his long term medical care at donate.neshamarescue.org
