Story
Friendly  Meet Cool Snoop Dogg, the most easygoing one-year-old Bassett/Beagle mix you could ever hope to meet. He’s currently around 30 pounds and will likely fill out in the 35–38 pound range once he reaches a healthy weight. One glance at his soft, soulful eyes is enough to understand just how deeply this sweet boy connects with his people. Everything about him—from his long Bassett body to his gorgeous droopy ears to that one charming knobby knee—makes him an irresistibly endearing companion. Snoop Dogg has the temperament of a dog twice his age. Instead of the constant curiosity you might expect from a Beagle, he carries himself with a calm, unhurried Bassett spirit. He enjoys exploring a little, but he’s not the type to keep his nose to the ground nonstop. He’s also not a big barker, only joining in when the other dogs decide there’s something worth discussing. On a leash he already does very well, and with just a little practice he’ll be close to perfect. What makes him truly special is his gentle, affectionate nature. If you sit on the ground, he immediately settles in close, wrapping you in a soft, sweet hug and offering the most tender kisses. For such a young dog, his kindness is remarkable. His foster family says he radiates peace, love, and pure goodness in everything he does. Snoop Dogg is wonderfully well-mannered, housebroken, and crate trained. He learned the doggy door in a single day and rides calmly in the car without stress or hesitation. Whether he’s with children, other dogs, cats, a busy family, an empty nest couple, or a single person, he adapts seamlessly. This boy truly fits anywhere, bringing joy, simplicity, and easy companionship into every space he enters. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle soul who just wants to love and be loved, Cool Snoop Dogg might be your perfect match. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Lucy – A Gentle 9Year-Old Basset Hound–Terrier Mix  Lucy is a shy, timid, and incredibly sweet 9-year-old Basset Hound–Terrier mix who arrived at Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue after her owner entered hospice care. She and her brother, Ricky, spent their entire lives together, but sadly, not in a safe or loving environment. The family openly admitted that both dogs were hit throughout their lives as a form of discipline—and that no one ever stepped in to stop the abuse. They were surrendered when their owner entered hospice.  To make matters worse, not a single family member, including the owner’s husband, was willing to take them in. When they were surrendered, the family assured us the dogs were up to date on their shots, but we quickly discovered they had not seen a veterinarian in more than three years. Both arrived with severe dental disease, and Lucy was additionally diagnosed with a heart murmur. Now safe at Rainbow Bridge, Lucy is slowly learning that gentle hands and kind voices exist, and that she finally deserves the comfort and compassion she was always denied. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Lucy is the quieter of the pair, she is timid and flinches when you raise your hand to pet her. She’s gentle, calm, and enjoys spending her days lounging in soft blankets or quietly following her foster mom around the house. Life has recently changed a lot for her, and she’s still learning to trust and feel secure again. With patience, kindness, and love, Lucy’s sweet personality continues to blossom a little more every day.  She is potty trained but does occasionally have accidents.   Adoption Fee  $300 tps://rainbowbridgerescue.org/adopt/  Application must be completed Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 8, 2025, 6:10 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ricky A 14-year-old Basset Hound–Terrier mix who recently came to Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue after his owner passed away and none of the family would take him.  He arrived with Lucy and these two sweet souls have spent their entire lives together.  While we would like to keep them together, they are not bonded and can be adopted separately. He was hit by his owner but he doesn't seem to be as traumatized as Lucy.   Ricky, true to his namesake, is full of life and charm — friendly, outgoing, and always ready for a cuddle.   Thank you for helping us keep our promise — to care for seniors like Lucy and Ricky when they need us most.   Maggie Moo: Small Body, Big Personality, Endless Wiggles Looking for a low-to-the-ground, high-on-love kind of gal? Meet Maggie, also known as Mags, Maggie Moo, or Wiggles—because that tail never stops! She’s a 10-year-old Basset Hound/Jack Russell mix with short legs, a big heart, and an Olympic-level snuggle game. Don’t let her age fool you—this 30-pound sweetheart still zips around the yard like she’s part greyhound. She’s spunky, silly, and full of surprises, especially when she catches a case of the zoomies. Maggie’s specialty? Being extremely attached to her person. If you’ve got a lap (or even just a couch), she’s got a spot picked out. She’s a champion cuddler, a loyal sidekick, and basically your new little shadow. Once she bonds with you, you’re her person for life. She needs a child-free home where she can feel safe, secure, and doted on like the queen she is. But don’t worry—when Maggie loves you, she LOVES you. Expect heart-melting looks, constant companionship, and lots of wiggly affection.  As a bonus: she gets along great with other dogs and even cats. So if you’ve already got a fur family, Maggie just might fit right in. Maggie is the perfect blend of sassy and sweet, loyal and hilarious. If you’re ready for a lovable, nap-loving, people-adoring pup to share your days (and your furniture), Maggie’s ready to meet you. Interested? Let’s set up a meet-and-snuggle. Maggie’s waiting!  Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.    PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 18, 2025, 10:48 am

Story
(DOB 11/01/2018) Charlie, the bundle of fun and energy that’s ready to bring joy to any home! This playful guy is all about having a good time—whether it’s running through the sprinkler on a hot summer day or chasing leaves in the back yard!  Charlie’s also super smart and knows a lot of commands, making him an eager learner. His cuddles are top-notch, and he’s a master of giving sweet, gentle kisses and deep, loving stares right into your eyes. He’d thrive in a home with a yard, or with an active family who’ll keep him moving if they live in an apartment. He’d make an excellent addition to a family with one or two other dogs, though he’d be just as happy being your one-and-only best buddy. We think he'd do great with kids, too! Charlie is playful, loving, and just plain fun—if you’re looking for a happy, energetic companion, he’s your guy! Charlie has a big personality in a compact size (~40lbs), especially when it comes to his interest in those other furries called cats! If he spots a cat, he’s very interested in giving chase, so be aware when you are out and about. He is also still mastering walking on a leash and still pulls but  working on it. Charlie sleeps in his kennel, and he has a nice cushy bed which he doesn't chew. If you have a fence yard and you let Charlie out to romp, run around, play and goof off, know he loves to dig. Keep him busy otherwise he could get into some mishchief. After a long and lovely romp, he likes to chill out in a big, comfy bed on his cot. Charlie has been good with his foster's female dogs and shows a friendly demeanor toward one of the male dogs. While his previous owner mentioned that he may not get along with all male dogs, it seems he is simply more selective about his canine companions. With the right introductions, Charlie has the potential to form strong bonds with other dogs. He would certainly be happy as an only dog with a family that is fun and full of adventures just like him! As part of Charlie’s $300 adoption fee, he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. If you have questions about this sweet little boy, you can email  Dogteam@pawsforlifenc.org.  If you wish to adopt Charlie, you can fill in an online application for him under the Adopt a Pet Tab on our website:  www.pawsforlifenc.org. ##2239684##
