Story
Lola is a 4 year old hound who needs a patient and loving home. She’s affectionate, cuddly, and enjoys being around her family or other dogs. Lola has spent most of her life in a home and is happiest when she has some company nearby. I deeply believe Lola would do best with an owner who has experience with dogs or is commited to continue working on training her. She is very vocal when left alone because of her separation anxiety, so she most likely will not be the best fit for a home where she will be left by herself for a long time. Lola is very good motivated, or centered. She will investigate and steal food from any plates unattended or pantry doors left open. She would benefit most from CONSISTENT boundaries and POSITIVE reinforcement training. We sadly have to put Lola up for adoption due to an upcoming cross country move. We’re looking for a home that can provide the time, attention, and stability she deserves. We know she would thrive with someone who can give her love.

Cannon came to DASH from rural Kentucky with 8 other dogs when their owner was going to surrender them to a high-kill shelter. Cannon is now currently in the DASH Prison Program where his handler states he is playful, zany and a little ornery, and loves to cuddle and steal the covers at night. He is working on his basic commands and has mastered a few already. He is also working on his crate training, potty training and walking on a leash, as all of those things were foreign to him. He loves people and other dogs. He has not been kid or cat tested, so proper introductions would be needed for either. This guy does bark at strangers, but his handler is working with him on that and he loves to try and steal stuff to chew on, so his new family will need to be vigilant for sure! Cannon would love to find an active family or person who understands his breed mix is going to need to be active so that he can then chill out and just hang out with you. Miss Baylen came to DASH with several other dogs where the home they were in were sending them to a high kill shelter in KY. This little girl is just the sweetest most loving dog you can imagine. All she wants is to be loved on and be the center of attention. She is young and due to the situation she came from, she is working on crate training, going potty outside and learning what a leash is. Her new family will need to continue working with her on these things. She is crated during the day while her foster mom is at work, as she will be nosey and get into things and tear up things in typical puppy fashion. She gets an activity ball and mat while in her crate along with a chew bone to keep her happy. She loves the other dogs in her foster home and loves being out in the fenced in back yard doing zoomies from one end to the other and getting the other younger dogs in on the fun! This girl is also very intelligent and training her should be a breeze once she gets all of her excess energy out. She also loves to chill on a lap or the couch and just being with her person. She has not been kid or cat tested, but feel she would be fine with kids with proper introductions. She is ready to find her forever home where she can continue to blossom into a wonderful dog! Online Adoption Application › Sweet Betsy came into the rescue with 8 other dogs when their owner was going to surrender them to a high kill shelter in Kentucky. She is currently in our DASH Prison Program where she is learning to socialize with other dogs and humans. Dogs she loves, humans she is still learning to trust, so big crowds are not her thing and she will bark to let you know she's uncomfortable in a situation. She is also a little sensitive to loud noises and touch when she's caught unaware, but her handler is working with her on both of those things. She is working on her basic commands as well as crate training. She is housebroken in the prison setting and walks on a leash. She was around cats in her foster home prior to going into the prison program and did not seem to care about them much. She has not been around kids. Small kids may not be a good fit, just due to her shyness, but older respectful kids should be fine. This girl came from a really tragic place where she was not given any love or affection and she is going to take some time to realize she deserves all of that and more with her new forever family, but once she does she will reward you with being a very loyal and loving companion. She loves to play and is very affectionate once she knows you. She does get nervous in crowds. She loves other dogs. She has not been cat or kid tested so proper introductions would be needed. She will be your little shadow once she likes you and her new person or family will have a forever companion that will make your life so much brighter. She can be a little protective of her food and toys around other dogs, so her new family will need to continue to work with her. She loves the boy dogs in the prison, but is a little picky about her girl friends, so proper introductions are a must for her. She has not been kid or cat tested, so again proper introductions would be needed for either. This girl loves giving and receiving affection and playing and would love to find an active family or person who understands her breed mix is going to need to be active so that she can then chill out and just hang out with you.
