He is such a sweet boy who loves belly rubs, sniffing the ground and hot dogs! He came to OBHR when his former family could no longer care for him due to health issues.  Romeo is ok with other dogs and kids. He has not been around cats that we know of. He is a typical hound who loves to explore and sniff! Romeo was kept as an outside dog so he is not potty trained, but outside dogs are usually pretty easy to train since they are used to going potty outside, especially if there is another dog for him to follow their lead.  Romeo has spent a few weeks at our vet where he still is at being boarded. He needed to have a dental and a neuter and they also remixed a hernia that had some infection so they kept him longer to make sure all was cleared up. He now has a clean bill of health and is ready to go to a foster or FOREVER home!  Romeo's adoption fee is $200. MOOSE is a handsome young Basset Hound/Beagle-type mixed breed dog. He has the dreamy good looks of a beagle and the legs/body of a Basset. He's about 10 months old and currently 42 pounds but a but too chonky, he should be 35-37 pounds.  Moose has a a big personality. He's a busy little guy best suited to a home where he'll get lots of attention and exercise. Moose needs a home with a physically fenced yard to keep him from following his nose into trouble. He's dog friendly and would be fine with a dog sibling his size or larger. Moose still has some puppyish behaviors so we've been working with him on his manners. We will work with Moose's adopter to continue the work we've begun. If you would like to meet Moose, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Jeromeo at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate, if he's still available. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. We have had him for 6-7 years and he has developed some behavioral issues because we leave him alone for long stretches each day. Kids are in school and both wife and I work 1st shift. On weekends we are out doing tasks we are unable to do during the week. Over the last several months he is now getting into the garbage every chance possible and when confronted, he urinates all the way to his cage. He does really well with other animals and kids. Would benefit most with a family that is home alot and gives him more attention which we cant.

THIS IS NOT A DOG IN OUR RESCUE AND WE HOLD NO LIABILITY FOR THIS ADOPTION. Ash is a 2 almost 3 year old ( July 22  of 2022 DOB), located in northwest ohio. She is spayed and potty trained (has the occasional accident). She is very loving and patient towards children. 100% has the basset attitude and grace. Due to some issues we are looking to rehome her. She has a problem with resource guarding and needs to be in an only dog household. We adopted her about a year and a half ago and have been trying our best to break the aggression but we are very inexperienced and haven't had luck. I am looking for a home that can show her the patience, love and understanding that she needs and deserves. Experience with resource guarding is definitely a plus. Odin is a sweet boy who loves to be with people and other dogs. Odin's beginning wasn't so bright, he was left alone in a home for a period of time where he was only seeing people to get let out and fed. Odin has been adjusting well to being around people and other dogs in his foster, but he still is showing some signs of seperation anxiety, mostly in the form of barking. His foster mom believes this is due to his being left alone and will improve with time. Odin gets very excited to have toys to chew on. He loves playing with his foster canine friends, but can get a little rough, so would be best in a home with dogs his size or larger. Odin is very food motivated! He loves the attention! He does well on car rides and will ring a bell when he has to go potty! Odin has been sleeping overnight in a crate in foster and does well. Fill out an application at www.maggiesmissionrescue.org

RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.
