WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🌟 Meet Gypsy – “Half the height, double the fun” 🌟 Gypsy is a 2-year-old, 28-pound sweetheart with Cattle Dog coloring and Basset Hound legs—aka the ultimate “off-road edition.” She may be a low rider, but don’t let those short legs fool you…this girl is built for adventure! Gypsy loves her walks, is getting better and better on leash, and would make a fantastic hiking buddy. When she’s not scouting for squirrels (her favorite hobby), she’s happily following her person around the yard, supervising all outdoor projects like the best little forewoman on four paws. She’s playful (sometimes with toys, sometimes with your shoelaces), great with people, and does well with other dogs. Cats are still an unknown, but given her love for squirrel-chasing, they may prefer she keeps her fan club elsewhere. ✅ Dog-friendly ✅ Loves the great outdoors ✅ House & crate trained ✅ The perfect mix of sass, spunk, and snuggles Gypsy is looking for an active family who will appreciate her zest for life, laugh at her low-rider zoomies, and love her for the goofy, loyal, one-of-a-kind pup she is. 🎉 Short legs, big dreams—Gypsy is ready to hit the trails and your couch with equal enthusiasm! Story
CORI Female 8 years Attributes Adult home only preferred Single dog home Dog friendly Good w/cats Requires a fence Housetrained Good in cars Cori is a sweet beagle girl with an adorable underbite. She was obviously very much loved in her previous home, but sadly, her mom passed away. Now, at 8 years old, Cori is looking for a forever home where she can be spoiled again. An adult-only home where she can have ample time to settle in would be best for Cori. She would prefer a quiet lifestyle (no cities or busy neighborhoods for Cori) and would like to be the only dog in the household. That being said, Cori enjoys her visits to doggy daycare where she can socialize with other dogs. Cori also does well with cats. Cori will thrive in a home where she has a regular routine and will be walked daily so her beagle nose can be used to its fullest potential. She’s house trained, but she doesn’t potty on leash, so a fenced yard is a must. Car rides with Cori are a breeze – she’s the perfect passenger when it’s time to hit the road! Because Cori was displaying some behavior that we wanted to better understand, we sent her to a certified professional dog trainer. Cori was already on medication for general anxiety, and she underwent thorough behavioral and medical evaluations to determine if there was something else that was affecting her behavior. We discovered that Cori’s underbite was causing a lot of jaw pain, and her discomfort was affecting how she interacted with the world. Since starting daily anti-inflammatory medication, Cori has bloomed beautifully. According to her trainer, she now has a good appetite and is a “total foodie.” Her confidence has increased, she’s more playful and more at ease meeting new people, and she has learned to ignore distractions while she’s on leash. Best of all, Cori is now ready to find her new forever home. If Cori seems like the beagle buddy you’ve been looking for, please contact Midwest BREW to learn more about her. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
JAKE 5 months Attributes Working on housetraining Snuggly Will potty on leash Playful Dog friendly Good with kids over age of 4 Hi there! My name is Jake and I'm a Beagle/Basset Hound mix — that means I've got the perfect combo of floppy ears, soulful eyes, and a nose that loves to explore! I currently weigh about 25 pounds, but I'm still growing into my big paws. I'm a happy, curious pup who lives for playtime. Give me a ball, a squeaky toy, or a good chew toy, and I'll be one very busy (and very joyful) little guy. I also love zooming around the yard and wrestling with my brother — we have the best time! Oh, and if you turn on the hose - Get ready for a show! I'll bark, chase, and try to catch the water stream like it's my greatest mission in life. Meal time is my absolute favorite time of day (I mean, who doesn't love food?), and I'll wag my tail like crazy when I know it's time to eat. After all that excitement, I love curling up close to my humans for some snuggles. I'm friendly with other dogs, too, and I'd be so happy to have furry friends to romp around with. I'm looking for a loving home where I can get plenty of attention, playtime, and cuddles — and maybe a yard to run around in too! If you're ready for a loyal, silly, and affectionate puppy to join your family, I think we could be the perfect match. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI). Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full-time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements. We discourage the adoption of puppies to families with children under the age of six, since puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets, hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.

Story
CHEETO 4 years Attributes Good on car rides High energy Snuggly Requires a fence Playful Will potty on leash Dog friendly Working on housetraining Meet Cheeto, a dashing blue tick Beagle with freckles. He is approximately 4 years old and weighs around 30 pounds. This handsome boy loves his food and treats. He was a bit short in the manners department, but is doing really well with "sit" and "wait" (especially when it's mealtime). He is mostly potty trained and uses the doggy door to take care of his business in a fenced yard. However, he does not seem to like going out in the dark, which results in a few accidents. I have been leashing him at bedtime and walking the yard with him. He will potty on a leash. We are also working on leash manners. He is a true Beagle and walks on a leash in the crazy, zig-zag formation. He does not crate well and seems to have high anxiety when crated. However, he seems to feel quite comfortable napping in one of the dog beds with his foster canine siblings when I am away. I work part-time several days a week and am gone up to 6 hours at a time without any problems. He has decided that the best place for him to sleep at night is next to me, and he sleeps very soundly. This boy is a lover and a snuggler. He loves his daily exercise in our “dog park” and will need a home that can take him on daily walks. He gets along well with other dogs and is rather patient with our grumpy and blind resident boy Beagle. We have not had much of a chance to hang out with children but he really enjoyed the few times he was around kids. He does have a lot of energy though, which means crazy zoomies, so very young children could literally be swept off their feet by him. He loves toys and empties the toy box often. He enjoys chew toys and is starting to get the hang of fetching a ball. This sweet, friendly, and curious dog has a personality that lights up any room. His goofy antics and gentle demeanor make it easy to fall in love with him. If you would like to learn more about this good boy, please contact Midwest BREW! NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).
