Story
Lewis is a 9-year-old Basset mix with a sweet, snuggly personality and a gentle soul. Despite his age, Lewis is playful and active, especially when toys or balls are involved. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and has learned to use the doggie door in a flash! He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and is good with cats, making him a great fit for multi-pet households. He will gladly sit for any treats! He may be small in size, but he has a big heart full of love. He’s a quiet, patient sleeper, content to snooze until his family is ready to start the day. This affectionate guy thrives on companionship and simply wants to be by your side. He’s a champion snuggler! If you`re looking for a loyal companion who still has plenty of pep in his step, Lewis is the perfect match. Story
Puppies, Puppies, Puppies! BROOD has an adorable trio of Basset Hound mix puppies ready to wiggle their way into your heart! Meet Wrangler (male), Ford (male), and Mercedes (female)—sweet siblings just over 8 weeks old. These little ones came to BROOD with their mom after their previous owner could no longer care for so many dogs. They’ve been spending time at a veterinary clinic, where the wonderful staff has helped them begin socializing and learning basic puppy manners.Like all young pups, they have a lot to learn and will need patient, loving homes committed to continued training, socialization, and playtime. These babies are full of potential—and energy!—and will thrive in families ready for the rewarding work of raising a puppy. While they love playing together, the puppies do not need to be adopted as a group—each is looking for their own forever home.If you`re ready for tail wags, puppy kisses, and lots of fun, contact BROOD today to meet our pups! Each puppy’s adoption fee is $250.00. They are too young to be spayed or neutered, so a refundable $200 spay deposit is required. This will be returned to the adopter upon proof of surgery.**Only BROOD-approved adopters can meet a dog (no exceptions). Story
Zoey is a playful one-year-old Basset mix with plenty of energy and room to grow. She is a lively, mischievous pup who will thrive in a home with an experienced family ready to provide the training and structure she needs. Her curious nose often leads her into mischief, so she’ll need guidance as she matures. Zoey would do best as the only dog in the home, as she has a bit of a pushy personality. She’s fully housetrained and has moved onto learning to use the doggie door. While she’s generally quiet, Zoey has a sharp eye for critters outside and is quick to bark at anything she spots through the window. She loves to play with toys and has a great time entertaining herself, often tossing them in the air and catching them with ease. Zoey is a happy, friendly, and curious pup who’s always on the go. If you’re ready to add a bundle of joy and adventure to your life, she’d love to meet you! Contact BROOD today to start your journey together. Her adoption fee is $100.00. **Only BROOD-approved adopters can meet a dog (no exceptions). Our adoption application is on the BROOD website at https://brood-va.org/adoptionapp/. Story
Coco is a happy-go-lucky 7-month-old Basset mix bursting with energy and personality! As you’d expect for her age, she’s an active pup who loves to play, explore, and make the most of every moment. She’s both house-trained and crate-trained and would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where she can run, play, and sunbathe to her heart’s content. Coco takes her outdoor sniffing duties very seriously—she inspects every blade of grass like it’s her full-time job!Coco loves playing tug-of-war with her family, chewing on bones, and romping around with her foster sister—even though there’s quite a size difference. She does have some resource guarding when it comes to food and is convinced her foster sister’s bed is hers, so she’ll need some continued guidance in that area. She’s a little shoe thief at heart (you’ve been warned!) but also loves tummy rubs, getting brushed, and cuddling once she’s comfortable. Though she may be shy at first, once she settles in, she acts like she’s always been part of the family. Coco does especially well with older children who can match her energy and playfulness.Sweet, spunky, and full of love, Coco is ready to bring joy and laughter to her forever home!Ready to meet Coco? Story
Falcon is a fun-loving, energetic 3-year-old classic Basset Hound looking for a forever family that can match his zest for life! He thrives on attention and wants to be part of all the action—whether that`s playtime in the yard or snuggling on the couch.Falcon is quick to make new friends and adores people, especially older children who can keep up with his high energy. He enjoys the company of other dogs but has a dominant personality and is possessive of food, treats, and his favorite couch spot. Because of this, any introductions to other dogs should be slow and closely supervised. This athletic Basset is crate-trained and house-trained. He`s currently a bit underweight and gradually adding a few pounds with proper care. With a surprising ability to leap and a history of agility training, Falcon is more active than your average Basset. He loves toys and will happily fetch them for you!Falcon is full of love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to give him the same in return. Ready to meet this lovable guy? Contact BROOD today—Falcon’s adoption fee is $300.00.**Only BROOD-approved adopters can meet a dog (no exceptions).
