Makana is about 8 years old. Full of energy, loves food and treats, loves walks. Rehoming due to owner losing full vision and care for Makana has become difficult. Got Makana when she was a puppy. She is used to being home alone if needed, and used to having a backyard to roam. She has been with another small dog her entire time in our home. She needs a home with someone who has time to walk her, play & tend to her needs. She does great at Dog Parks, and in the Car, she is used to sleeping on a Dog bed through the day and is NOT crate trained. Makana will need to be updated on shots. She has been around 2 Toddlers in our home since they were born. She hasn’t shown aggression toward them. She could use a little better manners around receiving treats and food as she likes to go for food quickly. She’d also pair well with someone or a family who has an active lifestyle. She currently is trained to use the bathroom outside before bed time and out again before work. Thanks for reading.

Starving and emaciated, with an old leash knotted cruelly around his neck, Julian showed up in our driveway in January, along with a little buddy. Unclaimed, and clearly abused, he has blossomed in our care from a trembling, traumatized dog-in-distress to a healthy, loving, loyal, highly intelligent, and playful little fellow, wise beyond his years. A Beagle-Terrier mix, he has a sturdy build that belies his sweet puppy-face. This little guy is a champion, whose noble spirit has triumphed over ugly adversity. He begins and ends each day with a joyfully wagging tail. In return for your love, he will be the most devoted of guardians of your caring household and would make a wonderful family-dog. He has lots of energy and loves to go for walks on his leash and romp in the yard with his toys. My husband and I are not exaggerating when we say that Julian is the sweetest, happiest, and most devoted doggy we have known. We would gladly keep him, but we need to be abroad. His age: about 5.

Sweet Annie and her brother Andy were sadly abandoned on the porch of Animal Friends Connection. With the growing crisis of unwanted animals, having dogs dumped at our door is a tremendous financial burden for our rescue. Meet Dutton! Sweet Dutton is looking for his forever home! He was pulled from the Stockton Shelter at approximately 4 months old after being found running stray with another puppy, and had a bit of a rough start after developing a vaccine reaction that resulted in temporary distemper symptoms. Luckily with time and care he recovered quickly, and has been fairly healthy ever since! Dutton loves his people. He lives with dogs his size of both sexes; when introduced properly he can be playful and he loves his canine foster siblings. Cats and small dogs are not a fit. Dutton is listed as 'Special Needs' due to allergies and anxiety. After all he's been through he's an extra sensitive soul, and is beginning a behavioral training course with a reputable trainer based out of the Sacramento area to work through those anxious tendencies and help him learn to feel safe and secure in new situations. He would do best with a foster or adopter who worked from home (or spends time at home frequently) as he is a bit of a velcro dog. The ideal foster or adopter for Dutton will be willing to participate in training with him - the costs of this upcoming course have been covered by the rescue and are included in his adoption fee. Allergy-wise, Dutton had a full allergen panel completed after experiencing a skin reaction, and is now known to be sensitive to peanuts, soy/legumes, and tumbleweeds (of all things!).
