Story
This is Miss Penny. She’s been with me since she was about 8 weeks old. Born on St Patty’s Day 2023 & a lucky charm. I rescued her from the Humane Society & learned that her mother was found very pregnant. Sadly, her mother and other sibling didn’t make it. With that said, over the last 3 years of loving her, she’s had some slight aggression when it comes to food. The aggression has been hard to figure out b/c she was never malnourished. It breaks my heart, but I’m being faced w/ the decision to try & rehome. My 1.5 yr old son was petting my other dog during dinner time & she tried to bite him. She also likes to nip at his fingers when they’re sticky. Im not one to give up on a fur baby, but I’m a single mom & it makes me nervous it being more serious before my son is old enough to understand. She’s a fantastic vacuum tho & she’d be great with older kids! She is usually so sweet, lives for attention & can be very smart. She’s so fast & would be a great running partner or hiking pal.

Story
Jordan is the kind of puppy that instantly makes you feel at ease. He has a naturally sweet and gentle personality, paired with just the right amount of puppy energy to keep things fun without being overwhelming. He loves to play, explore, and be part of whatever you are doing, but he is just as happy to settle down and relax by your side when the day winds down. Even at his young age, Jordan has a calm, easygoing vibe that makes it clear he is going to grow into a wonderfully chill companion. He is the type of dog who will fit beautifully into a family, whether that means joining in on playtime with kids, lounging during movie nights, or greeting guests with a wagging tail and friendly demeanor. Jordan gets along with everyone he meets and has a warm, loving nature that makes him easy to adore. If you are looking for a loyal, balanced pup who will grow into a steady, affectionate best friend, Jordan might just be your perfect match. Currently in a foster home in Chattanooga, TN, and available for transport to a number of locations within the continental United States. Story
Meet the incredible Scout! This sweet soul was discovered at a common dumping ground, just trying to survive and find scraps of food in a world that didn’t treat him kindly. Luckily, we swooped in to rescue him and provide him the safety he desperately needs. Scout is about 30 pounds of pure heart and is estimated to be around 6-7 years old 🥰. Poor Scout has faced some tough circumstances, as he tested positive for heartworms. The good news is it was a low positive, so he’s been on Heartgard, since rescued! 🎉 Let’s keep our fingers crossed that by he’ll be heartworm negative very soon (usually takes a year in most cases). He is as sweet as pie, but Scout can be a little anxious/shy at first. He just needs a little time to trust and realize he's safe now! We’re committed to helping him feel secure and loved. Remember, this fella will require a fenced yard because hounds like him are notorious for following their noses into mischief! 🐕 Scout definitely needs a dog buddy in his home too. 🤩 His adoption fee is $100, which helps cover some of the costs like his neutering, vaccinations, microchip, flea prevention, and all the other goodies he enjoyed while with us. However, it's crucial that he stays on heartworm prevention for life. To adopt Scout, it's essential to apply through our website www.fureverfurkids.com and remember, we do home checks (either in person or virtually) to ensure every pet goes to the safest of homes! If you're serious about adding this adorable hound to your family Once a pet is adopted, they must come back to us if life circumstances change, so please be sure you're ready for a lifelong commitment! Thank you for considering Scout and his friends who are all in need of loving homes. 🏡

Story
Buster was rescued from deplorable conditions at 5 weeks old. He was severely anemic, covered in fleas, and had roundworms. After two months of veterinary care he was given a clean bill of health. He has been on Heartgard and Nexgard monthly since then. He is up-to-date on shots, has been neutered and microchipped. Buster is a sweet, loving dog. He loves to cuddle and play. He's good with kids and other dogs. He is fully housetrained. He can be resource aggressive and has bitten twice. Buster is an active dog with a strong sense of smell that can lead him astray. He needs a fenced yard which we can't provide. When he goes outside I have to keep him on a 30' chain which isn't fair to him. He pulls on the leash so he needs experienced owners who can train him. He can sit, stay, and come. He will be an incredible companion to the right owner. I am 70 and can no longer walk him on leash due to health issues. He needs an active family so he can fully enjoy being a dog.

Story
Meet Cubby a Lab/Beagle mix that lost the only home he ever knew when his owner passed away. Since then, the shelter has been his whole world for 1,364 days, but it’s never felt like home. He’s a gentle, laid-back couch potato who just wants a quiet place to rest his head and someone to love again. He would do best in an adult-only home where he can feel safe, and finally at peace. He’s not asking for much—just a soft couch, a kind heart, and a second chance. Please consider fostering or adopting him. He’s waited long enough. To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved.
