Several months ago, Dolly was found as a stray after being struck by a car. She was taken to Catoosa County Animal Shelter, where they immediately worked with rescue partners to get her the emergency care she desperately needed. Dolly spent a week in the ER before we learned she had suffered a broken pelvis and would require 8–10 weeks of strict crate rest to heal. She spent those weeks with us, and through it all, she never lost her sweet spirit. Once she was fully healed, Dolly earned a spot in our incredible training program at Walker State Prison. There, her dedicated handlers poured their hearts into helping her grow, and Dolly soaked up every lesson. At graduation, she made us all proud by earning the highest score in her class! Meet the incredible Scout! This sweet soul was discovered at a common dumping ground, just trying to survive and find scraps of food in a world that didn’t treat him kindly. Luckily, we swooped in to rescue him and provide him the safety he desperately needs. Scout is about 30 pounds of pure heart and is estimated to be around 6-7 years old 🥰. Poor Scout has faced some tough circumstances, as he tested positive for heartworms. The good news is it was a low positive, so he’s been on Heartgard, since rescued! 🎉 Let’s keep our fingers crossed that by he’ll be heartworm negative very soon (usually takes a year in most cases). He is as sweet as pie, but Scout can be a little anxious/shy at first. He just needs a little time to trust and realize he's safe now! We’re committed to helping him feel secure and loved. Remember, this fella will require a fenced yard because hounds like him are notorious for following their noses into mischief! 🐕 Scout definitely needs a dog buddy in his home too. 🤩 His adoption fee is $100, which helps cover some of the costs like his neutering, vaccinations, microchip, flea prevention, and all the other goodies he enjoyed while with us. However, it's crucial that he stays on heartworm prevention for life.
