I am Octavia! A friendly, social gal that loves people, outside activities and belly rubs. I need a gentle, but firm person to continue teaching me how to be the best dog ever. I'm pretty smart too and know a few commands like sit, come, and down. I'm people motivated- not by treats or food so much - I love love!

Story
I adopted Millie 10 months ago from a rescue. I have recently been ill & need to rehome her. She is sweet as can be but has a lot of social anxiety. I have worked diligently with her and she has come a long way but she still is fearful of noises. I am crushed to have to rehome her because she has my heart! I so want a good home for her! She is good with other dogs & children and everyone, just timid. She needs a patient owner who will shower her with love. Also, she never barks! A very quiet dog!

Story
Lexie is a tricolored female Beagle mix that grew up in a tough part of town. Besides the elderly man that took them under his wing, the other neighborhood residents were not very kind to them. Lacking resources to properly care for them and fearing for their safety, he reached out to us for help. Fortunately, we were able to bring them into our rescue recently and both are doing quite well. At first, Callie and Lexie were understandably wary of volunteers. It has been a journey gaining their trust. With patience and love, our volunteers showed them not all people were bad and soon won them over. These two girls have really blossomed during their time with us. While they get along well, each would do fine in a home of their own.Lexie is three years and 2 months old now and weighs seventeen pounds. She is a good fit for an adult or family with teenage children that are home most of the day. She takes comfort in knowing you are near. Lexie prefers a quiet calm home where she can putter around and relax with the family. Visitors should be few as she is wary of strangers. She doesn’t expect you to fuss over her but does enjoy a soft pat on the head. Lexie enjoys when you talk to her as you do things around the house. She does well on a set schedule and a routine gives her a sense of security. Another calm confident dog in the home would be a good companion for her. Outdoor rest breaks are limited at the shelter, so she may need more work to be fully housebroken. A home with a fenced-in backyard is a must. Lexie prefers exploring and running outdoors over going on walks. On sunny days, Lexie likes to sprawl out in the grass and catch a few rays. Shy sweet Lexie is searching for a family that will give her a wonderful life. We hope that will be with you!To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Story
Meet Rocky and Oreo! Rocky is an eighteen pounds Chihuahua mix and Oreo is a twenty-three pound Beagle mix. This Dynamic Duo is ready to steal your heart away! Rocky is a bit more timid than Oreo but both are very loving and are coming out of their shells nicely. These two boys are very bonded and do not like to be too far from each other so they must be adopted together. Once settled into a home these cuties would love to spend all their time with you, but when you are away or busy they'll still have each other to keep company. Both are already housebroken and will need a yard with a secure tall fence. Rocky and Oreo are ready to add you to their family, are you ready to join?To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Story
Wasabi was surrendered to a local animal shelter. We believe he is a Beagle/Shepherd mix and around sixteen weeks old but can't say for certain. He currently weighs 20 pounds and will likely be a large dog when full grown. This playful spunky pup is perfect for an active family. A fenced in yard would make housebreaking much easier and keep him safe while getting some exercise outside. Looking for some puppy love? Come meet Wasabi! To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved.
