Story
We love Lucy’s sweet personality, but we are a busy family. She needs more attention and exercise. She is crate-trained and unfortunately spends a lot of time in her crate. She loves long walks. She does not bark at all, and we think her previous owners hit her. She is the sweetest thing.

Story
If you are interested in SKIPPY or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. SKIPPY is one of the most gentle souls in all the universe. He has deep brown heart melting eyes that always seem to be in awe of the big bright beautiful world around him. A couple of his favorite things are cuddle time with his foster family and sunning in the backyard. SKIPPY currently lives in a foster home with many dogs. He is never pushy and has zero desire to be the boss. SKIPPY’s kind, unobtrusive nature will make it easy for him to get along with all resident animals in his forever home. However, SKIPPY would also be perfectly fine as the only pup in the house, so he’s an easy addition to the family. If you are lucky enough to have sweet SKIPPY take a piece of your heart into his paw, he will hold on to it forever! To see even more pictures of SKIPPY, please copy and paste the following link into your browser: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/76fl8xixj60rfhyw0b3bs/AHB_bHWP1rVPd5FePq2DZUE ?rlkey=s96qez6fhllqlykv5nyoksi0t&st=8hhkalud&dl=0 SKIPPY is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations including 2 rounds of both the H3N2 and H3N8 canine influenza vaccinations. His $440 adoption fee covers the cost of transport to the middle TN area. For an adoption application on SKIPPY click here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam4.woofriver@gmail.com. It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
Emma is a fast-paced, very energetic, nose-to-the-ground, always exploring 10.5 month old puppy! She needs a home with lots of room to run & someone able to keep up with her. She is very food motivated, but not aggressive. She passed puppy preschool, but still needs more training for beginner obedience. Emma was adopted from a rescue at 3 months old and currently lives with her littermate brother Beethoven (who we are looking to rehome as well). Emma has been spayed, microchipped and is up-to-date on all of her vaccines. We love Emma, but I am dealing with an autoimmune disorder and allergies that are making it difficult to keep her.

Story
Lexie is a tricolored female Beagle mix that grew up in a tough part of town. Besides the elderly man that took her under his wing, the other neighborhood residents were not very kind to her. Lacking resources to properly care for them and fearing for their safety, he reached out to us for help. Fortunately, we were able to bring her into our rescue. At first, Lexie was understandably wary of volunteers. It has been a journey gaining her trust. With patience and love, our volunteers showed her not all people were bad and soon won her over. She has really blossomed during her time with us. Lexie is four years and weighs 20 pounds. She is a good fit for an adult or family with teenage children that are home most of the day. She takes comfort in knowing you are near. Lexie prefers a quiet calm home where she can putter around and relax with the family. Visitors should be few as she is wary of strangers. She doesn’t expect you to fuss over her but does enjoy a soft pat on the head. Lexie enjoys when you talk to her as you do things around the house. She does well on a set schedule and a routine gives her a sense of security. Another calm confident dog in the home would be a good companion for her. Outdoor rest breaks are limited at the shelter, so she may need more work to be fully housebroken. A home with a fenced-in backyard is a must. Lexie prefers exploring and running outdoors over going on walks. On sunny days, Lexie likes to sprawl out in the grass and catch a few rays. Shy sweet Lexie is searching for a family that will give her a wonderful life. We hope that will be with you!To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved.
