Have you ever wanted to introduce a country boi to the finer things in life? Meet 3 for 5, our one-year-old beagle who recently discovered there is a whole world beyond hunting and kennels. 3 for 5 was found out in the country and came to us with very little experience with this whole pet business. Sit? Never learned it. Toys? What’s the point? Leash walks? New but welcome concept 👀 This boi is country but he ain’t simple. He learns quickly and seems to study my other dog and our family to learn about what to do in his new life. He has gone from seemingly never having been on a leash to strolling around the neighborhood like he has places to be, squirrels to watch, and peemails to check. He’s watching his foster brother to figure out this mysterious thing called playing, and even starting to jump in on a game of fetch. And despite being a beagle, 3 for 5 is surprisingly quiet. We were prepared for the traditional beagle soundtrack. Instead, we got a sweet little guy who mostly just wants to know what everyone is doing and whether he can be included. He loves romping around the backyard with the family and loves his training time. He’s wonderful with kids(my kids are 1-7 and he’s gentle with the baby) and other dogs; he is just an exceptionally sweet boy. We’re working on crate training, basic commands, and the delicate art of not launching your entire body at the person who is bringing you dinner. He is making progress on all of it, and quickly. Less than a week ago he was roaming in the woods, skinny, scavenging for food, and terrified of humans - today he is eagerly following us around, understanding that he has to wait calmly for his food, and sitting on command with the help of chicken liver treats. He is getting neutered tomorrow! 3 for 5 is heartworm positive and will need a long term foster until adoption or adopter that can administer heartworm treatment safely, but that is just a small bump in the road compared to the lifetime of love, cuddles, and companionship that you would get with this good pup. This sweet, social, floppy-eared beagle is ready to trade his hunting days for walks, couches, snacks, and frequent cuddles. Please consider adopting this sweetie, or spread the word to someone whose family might be made complete by him.

Sweet Nugget might be one of the most unusual short stacks we've ever had. We think he is mixed with Basset Hound and Catahoula, but who really knows. He loves to romp in the play yard and really wants all the head scratches you can give. Toy obsessed and very food motivated!Update from his snow foster 1/31/26:Nugget has been enjoying his stay-cation! He is a total love bug and wants nothing more than to be cuddled up next to you. He would be a great binge-watch buddy. He is great about sleeping in his crate. He’s not a chewer but has a healthy curiosity about his environment. We are working on his leash skills. In the dog park, he is faster than his little legs may suggest! He’s a ton of fun and would make an excellent and completely lovable companion Nugget was Heartworm Positive and was treated with a slow kill treatment plan.  His six month and one year re-tests are NEGATIVE.  Adopters should follow-up with their vet regarding any additional treatments and monitoring.
