Beau the Beagle: A Distinguished Gentleman & Olfactory Specialist
Introducing a soulful, gentle spirit, seeking a permanent home where he can apply his extensive skills in companionship and loyalty. A handsome hound with a heart twice the size of his frame, he offers a unique blend of sensitive intuition and sweetness. While he may approach new situations with a degree of caution, his "sappy eyes" serve as a testament to his deep emotional intelligence and desire for meaningful human connection.
Beau is a specialist in investigative sniffing, ensuring that every inch of a backyard or walking trail is thoroughly vetted and documented. He is an enthusiastic outdoorsman who excels in car rides, remaining observant while in transit. When he’s not sniffing, Beau is a self-proclaimed "couch potato." He specializes in human attachment, packed with lots of kisses.
Beau maintains his crate with the utmost cleanliness. Despite his cleanliness, it takes him a bit of time to settle in and relax. One of his greatest assets is his love for all dogs. He maintains a 100% approval rating with other dogs and has demonstrated a peaceful, "fine with cats" policy, making him an ideal candidate for multi-pet households.
Although Beau is a "big-hearted" individual, he is a very sensitive soul who can be "anxious" or "scared" when left alone.. He will thrive with a family that prioritizes patience, soft voices, and gentle encouragement. Once he feels secure, his loyalty is unparalleled. He is ready to trade his "scared" beginnings for a life of security, car rides, and shared blankets.
All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request.

After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below:
Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey.
A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below)
The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location.
Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier.
If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!:
Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720).
Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family.
If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL:
Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family.
If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe:
Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family.
PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options:

Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee**
