Biscuit is between 4-5 months old and 25 pounds. She is believed to be a beagle/hound mix. We are guessing will be around 40-50 pounds when fully grown. Biscuit is a little shy at first but didn't take too long to warm up to her foster family and their dogs. She is a very smart girl, she has picked up the doggy door already in her foster home and is doing very well with pottying outside. She entertains herself with toys and does well in her kennel at night and when her foster family is gone. We think she has almost got down the potty outside thing. She will need continued traing of course as any puppy her age but she is a sweet girl who loves to be by her people and seems anxious to please. She has been around other dogs in her foster home but not around cats or children but should do fine. She hasn't been on a leash yet so may need some work on that also. She is an all around great pup, she has the cutest head tilt when she looks at you, she does bark a little when she gets excited to see her foster family but other than that is not an extensive barker! Her adoption fee of $300 covers her spay, microchip with registration, vaccines, and current monthly flea and heartworm preventions.  Please apply at gfrpets.org/apply ##2670015##

Boogie is living in a foster home! Please submit an application from our website and email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to see if you're a match! Six-year-old Boogie has had an interesting journey! She was originally adopted from us in 2019. Then, she was surrendered to another shelter in the city this year and the form cited life changing circumstances beyond the adopter's control. We know she must have been devastated to give Boogie up. Thankfully, when Boogie's microchip was scanned, the shelter realized she was a Heartland dog, so we immediately scooped her up! We knew about her behavior in a home from the form her precious adopter filled out, stating that she was good with dogs and children and has no behavioral or health concerns. Boogie had been in a home practically all her life, so we made sure that Boogie went straight to a foster home. There, we have been learning even more about this perfect girl as she adjusts! She had a couple of accidents at first, but once she learned where to go in her new digs, she has not had another accident. She does well free roaming with the foster's resident dog, and has overall been a joy to have! Below is what Boogie's foster mom had to share about her! "Boogie was a little shy at first, but it didn’t last long. She has settled in quickly. She’s a very happy girl, likes walks, snuggles on the couch, morning stretches, belly rubs and playtime in the yard with Bourbon. She walks great on a leash, does great when home alone, has eaten everything I have given her and doesn’t really bark at all. She does well with all sizes of dogs and I imagine she would be wonderful with kids as well. Boogie is pint sized perfection!" Boogie would be a perfect addition to any home. She is a great age and perfectly petite 26 lbs. If you are interested, inquire today before she boogies on out with someone else! Boogie's adoption fee is $375. This animal is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.

I’ve had Zoey since a 6 week pup. Zoey is a beautiful, well-behaved, and loving companion. She loves people, pets, and smelling all the smells the outdoors has. She is a perfect lapdog, and loves to sleep next to people. She’s disciplined, eats twice a day and is really lazy. Definitely a house dog, but she has given me zero problems within the past 6 years. Unfortunately, my job relocated me, and plus my 1yr old son has a major dog allergy so we can no longer keep her. It hurts me to do this but I no it has to be done. I refuse to take her to a shelter, so hoping I can find her a happy home.
