Story
Blue and Skeeter are wonderful eager to please velcro dogs. They would love nothing more than to spend the day curled up next to you or out exploring and being active. They have a lot of energy but are just as happy being couch potatoes. They are 7 year old Beagle terrier mixes who were found dumped together as puppies. Blue has been known to be too smart for his brother's own good and is good at distracting him to get the toy or person he wants. Skeeter is just happy to be around his brother and a person who will give him the most attention possible. They are very eager to please and love to learn, if it makes their people happy. Skeeter sometimes needs a bit of extra time to figure out new things, but he'll watch his brother and figure it out. They both need a bit of help learning how to be a dog again and that people come back. They are great boys and if someone is willing to help them learn they'll pick it up quick. They haven't been socialized in 3 years but previously went to doggy daycare. They needed a close eye but we're progressing at the time. They'd need some time before becoming another dogs friend. They haven't met any cats or young children before. They have the instincts of a hunting dog, usually happily retrieving live animals. They've met pet rats previously and gotten a bit too excited for their own good. They've been better with smaller dogs than larger dogs but living with other types of small animals would probably not be the best. Blue needs some help overcoming some resource guarding behavior but is a wonderful dog once he can be reassured there will always be enough for him from now on. These boys are full of love and life and would love nothing more than to have a good pawrent or family to share it with.       If you are interested in Blue and Skeeter please fill out an adoption application at:  https://www.dogsaredeservingrescue.com/adopt July 7, 2026, 1:11 pm

Story
Suzie Q – 9½yearold Beagle/Pointer mix Suzie Q came into the Animal Shelter as a puppy in 2017. She was adopted in 2018 and lived in that home for many years. In May of this year, she was surrendered back to the same shelter at 9½ years old. She is a friendly, easygoing dog who does best in a calm, quiet home, ideally with a senior adopter or someone who enjoys a slower pace. She likes short walks, gentle routine, and staying close to her person. Suzie Q is heartworm positive with no symptoms. She is already on treatment and continues to do well. She has no health issues.  She gets along fine with other dogs out in public, basically ignores them, however in a home setting, she prefers to be the only dog. She can free roam with no destruction. Adoption Requirements:• Fencedin backyard• Condo with no fence will be considered• Calm household; senior adopter preferred• Prefers to be the only dog• Older children Adoption Fee: $100  ##2776150##

Story
Our Finch, 11 years old almost( 08/02/2015). He was born in Russia. But at age 7 he was relocated in USA. He is pure bread titled dog. He is wonderful. Lovely dog. He is my baby. But we have our son, and since 6 m our son start experiencing allergy. It’s been already almost more than 2 years we were trying to, give treatment to our child but it’s not working. Finch has some health issue, not severe, just mild thing. He likes to be outside, walking , eating grass, likes to eat( in general) , enjoys the weather sitting outside. Not so active. very affectionate and loving. Please, is somebody wants to have just a companion, he would be great for that! Very sad situation for us, we went through a lot with him. Any information additional please call me or text.

Story
Waylon 3 year old, male, beagle English bulldog mix. Smart, quiet for a beagle, loving with adults, too rough with children, treat and food obsessed. Must be kept on leash while outside (even in fenced in yards he finds a way out). Does not get along well with other animals because he does not know when to stop playing. Will do best in home as only pet with adults only

Story
FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60619 ESTIMATED DOB: 12/2022 WEIGHT: 27lbs KIDS: Yes, Older DOGS: Yes CATS: Yes HISTORY: Juniper came to us from Louisiana where she was found as a stray. ABOUT: Juniper is absolutely the sweetest creature on the planet. She can be a little timid when meeting new people, but once she gets to know you she is willing to follow you around and help you do anything. Including things that don’t need help. If you know beagles and love both their antics and devotion - Juniper will be the perfect dog for you. Their love, companionship, and desire to sniff your eyeballs. Their willingness to follow you anywhere and everywhere. But also their ability to get into a little trouble if they are left alone when their services are not needed. Juniper rides well in the car. She does bark and whine when she is left alone - so she might upset the neighbors in an apartment. Her foster said she isn’t horrible on leash, but isn’t the best either. Juniper does great with other dogs and would likely do best with another dog. She would likely thrive with a dog who likes to interact and be her buddy - but also is confident and can give her a lead to follow. If we had to make a guess Juniper likely came from a hunting beagle kennel, so she is used to having canine companions. Juniper is being fostered with a cat whom she does not bother. Like most dogs she enjoys cat food, so it would need to be kept out of her reach. Juniper is happy to entertain herself while you are busy - but it might involve chewing the belt on your robe or putting all your shoes in her bed. If you’ve had a beagle before - you know this is pretty par for the course. She is not a bounce-off-the-wall every minute of the day type of hyper, but she is young and will need some physical and mental stimulation to keep your robes and shoes safe. Juniper is not being fostered with children. She is as sweet as pie and would likely love children, but because she can get a little excited she might do best with older children that she can’t accidentally knock over. Juniper’s housetraining has gone back and forth. At times she does really well, but has recently been having some accidents in her crate. A good routine and schedule - along with another dog and a little patience from her adopter might help her get this figured out. Juniper has a low grade heart murmur and a slow heart rate that doesn’t really mean much except it can change the medications she needs while sedated. She should also be on a cardiology approved diet (Hills, Purina, etc.). No grain free or boutique foods, please. They might be healthy foods for many dogs, but they’re not for her. Juniper was heartworm positive upon arrival, and has gone through treatment. More information and our adoption application can be found at www.luluslockerrescue.org.
