Story
We got Gabby as a little puppy and just under a year later she had puppies. She is up to date on her vaccines and has been fixed. She loves everyone, but she will bark at strangers. She loves to cuddle and play fetch. It's difficult to get her a new home, however I can't keep 3 dogs where I'm living now..

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Mickey! Mickey is a handsome almost 4-year-old Beagle mix with a striking black-and-white coat and a gentle nature. While he may be a little shy when meeting new people and experiencing new situations, once he feels comfortable, his sweet personality begins to shine! Mickey is looking for a calm, patient home where he can continue building his confidence at his own pace. Having another small to medium-sized dog in the home is a must for Mickey. He takes great comfort in canine companionship and has enjoyed living with other dogs.  A confident dog friend will help him blossom, we have seen this firsthand when he attends doggie daycare and becomes the life of the party with his dog friends!  Because Mickey has shown some impressive climbing skills, he will also need a physically fenced yard with fencing taller than 4 feet. We've seen him scale 3- to 4-foot gates, so a taller, secure fence will be important to keep him safe. If you're looking for a gentle soul who just needs a little encouragement to come out of his shell, Mickey may be the perfect addition to your family. Extra points to you if your current dogs name is Minnie and we can match her with her Mickey!!    Mickey's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccines and 4DX testing.  Mickey is seeking a home as an indoor companion, if you would like to meet him please submit an application at Adopthope.org.  Last Hope requires that adopters have a history of keeping their previously owned pets; altered, kept current on vaccines/preventatives/annual vet care and as indoor pets.  Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 11, 2026, 1:49 pm

Story
Apollo is a sweet, goofy boy who is happiest when he's right by his person. This affectionate guy is a true velcro dog who loves being included in whatever you're doing. Whether he's following you around, curling up on the couch, or settling into your lap for some belly rubs, Apollo simply enjoys being close to his people. Apollo came to AWF after his owner left him and another dog behind with a roommate. The remaining roommate cared for both dogs for as long as they could, but eventually had to make the difficult decision to surrender them. Through no fault of his own, Apollo found himself looking for a new home. This goofy guy has a wonderful mix of playful curiosity and laid-back charm. He walks nicely on a leash, takes treats politely, knows how to sit, and is perfectly content being a couch potato when the day calls for relaxing. His adorable head tilts and occasional clumsy moments only add to his personality. Apollo has been stressed by the shelter environment and can be selective about his canine companions, so he will need thoughtful introductions with other dogs. He has done well with children of all ages and would be a great option for a first-time owner who is ready to give him the structure, patience, and companionship he needs. Apollo is ready for a fresh start with someone who will appreciate his goofy quirks, gentle nature, and desire to be by your side. If you're looking for a loyal couch companion who is always happy to follow you around and then curl up beside you at the end of the day, Apollo is ready to meet you.

Story
Patty Ann is a sweet, gentle girl who may need a little time to show you just how special she is. She was found dumped with an indentation around her neck, a lasting reminder of where her collar had once been. Despite whatever she experienced before coming to AWF, Patty Ann remains a kind and affectionate girl who is learning that people can be trusted. She can be shy and reserved when she first meets someone, especially in the busy shelter environment, but once she starts to feel comfortable, her affectionate personality comes shining through. Give her a little patience and she'll quickly decide you're her new best friend. She loves being close to her people and absolutely enjoys being a lap dog. Patty Ann knows how to sit, takes treats nicely, and gets along well with other dogs. She can be flighty or skittish when she's nervous, so she'll benefit from a patient family who will let her build confidence at her own pace. She has done well with children ages 7 and up and would be a wonderful choice for a first-time dog owner who is ready to give her the consistency and encouragement she needs. Patty Ann has some energy to burn and would enjoy daily walks, playtime, and opportunities to explore, but she is just as happy settling in close to her favorite people. Her short legs, floppy ears, and silky coat only add to her adorable charm. Patty Ann is the kind of dog who may not be the first one to run up and greet you, but once she trusts you, you'll have a devoted little shadow who wants nothing more than to be by your side. She has already been through more than she ever should have, and now she's ready for the part of her story where she gets to be safe, loved, and truly home.

Story
Pickles is a 3-year-old Beagle/Boxer mix with a truly one-of-a-kind look — and a heart to match. Her soft, soulful eyes and gentle spirit tell the story of a girl who hasn’t had the easiest start, but who’s ready to soak up all the love she’s missed out on. Pickles is the definition of a velcro dog — she always wants to be close to her people, whether that means curling up beside you on the couch or climbing right into your lap for snuggles. When she gets excited, she breaks into the cutest little tippy-taps with her paws that are guaranteed to melt your heart. Pickles is lover of playtime and can sometimes play a little rough with people she trusts, but we think with a little training she'll be able to regulate that in no time. She’s friendly and social with every dog she meets and has a sweet, submissive play style that makes her a great companion for canine friends. Pickles is also wonderful with kids, but her prey drive kicks in a little too much when she's around cats, so she'd do best in a home without them. This smart girl is potty-trained, crate-trained, and knows her basic manners. She responds to her name and walks well on a leash. Pickles is both food- and praise-motivated, making her eager to please and a joy to train. Pickles would thrive in just about any loving home — whether it’s with another dog or as the center of attention — as long as she has her own people to love and stay close to. She’s a sweetheart through and through, just happy to be alive and ready to share that happiness with you. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’ll stick by your side through thick and thin, Pickles is your girl.
