This sweet boy Ricky was found as a stray in Costa Rica and picked up by a local rescue there. It was obvious he was abandoned by his family as he was very friendly but confused. His tail was infected and had to be amputated due to a machete strike the vet believed. Ricky's tail is all healed and the vet saved 3 inches. Ricky is a beagle/English setter dog mix, male, 4 years old, calm, 35 lbs, good with dogs, friendly but shy, very treat motivated which makes training easy, walks nice on a leash, crate trained, good travelling in vehicle, hasn't barked yet, and low energy. He is neutered, utd vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, Snap 4dx tested, and he comes with a vet Health Certificate. Story
Bronco is a 2-year-old Beagle-Shih Tzu mix breed from Moose Cree First Nation with a big personality packed into a small body. He is a happy, playful little guy who loves being involved in whatever his people are doing and has quickly become a favorite in his foster home. Whether hes tossing his toy around in excitement or burrowing into blankets for cuddles, Bronco brings lots of fun and affection wherever he goes. Although Bronco loves children, he can love them a little too much and may become overly protective of them around guests in the home. Because of his tendency to guard children, he would be best suited to an adult-only home. Bronco is housetrained, crate trained, and doing well with obedience training, already learning sit and showing he enjoys working with his people. Around the house, he is affectionate and loyal, happily following his humans everywhere like the ultimate little sidekick.Bronco does have a strong, confident streak and likes to make his opinions known, especially if he hears noises or notices someone at the front door. He can be a little unsure around new men at first and benefits from patience, calm introductions, and space to warm up on his own terms. He may also try to sneak unattended snacks if given the opportunity, so keeping food out of reach will be important for this clever little guy. Bronco requires proper introductions with new dog friends, but he quickly warms up and loves a good game of chase. He gets along well with most other dogs and enjoys canine companionship, especially with dogs who match his confident personality. Bronco occasionally guards his humans from other dogs in the household when they are sharing cuddle time on the couch. For this reason, his future family should be prepared to continue managing and working on these behaviors to help him feel secure and succeed in his new environment. Due to his interest in smaller animals like chickens, a home without small pets would be best. Bronco would thrive in a home that appreciates his playful spirit, confidence, and affectionate nature. He would love a family who will continue his training, provide structure and boundaries, and include him in everyday life. In return, Bronco promises endless companionship, entertainment, and a warm snuggle buddy who always wants to be close to his people. Our adoption fees cover all up to date veterinary needs, including but not limited to: full veterinary examination, age appropriate vaccinations, fecal test and parasite prevention, wellness bloodwork, spay or neuter, and microchip. All dogs will be started on a 6 week trial of pet insurance after adoption. Local adopters can take advantage of 50% off a training course at Ruff Haus in Barrie (www.ruffhaus.ca) and all adopters will also be signed up for Petcademy to offer 30 days of free text-based behavioural support. Story
Beckham the Beagle mix didn’t choose his journey — but he absolutely chose how he would live it: with courage, joy, and an endlessly wagging spirit. 💛 His name wasn’t picked by accident; Beckham earned it. After a car accident, his left leg couldn’t be saved, but Beckham never got the memo that he was supposed to slow down. Instead, he carried on doing what he does best — running, playing, smiling, and greeting everyone he meets with pure, contagious happiness. Three years old and weighing about 15 kg, Beckham is the kind of dog who makes your days brighter simply by being part of them. He doesn’t see himself as “different” at all — he sees himself as ready. Ready for adventures, ready for cuddles, ready to love with his whole heart, and most of all, ready for a place to finally call home. Beckham has a calm, affectionate, and happy natured personality that makes him a joy to be around. He truly loves human company and thrives on attention, soaking it up with a grateful heart and a gentle presence. He is social and friendly, getting along well with both people and other dogs, and he is great with children, making him a wonderful fit for a home with kids aged eight and up. He is neutered, healthy, and up to date on his vaccines. Despite having three legs, Beckham doesn’t need special treatment. What he needs is simple — someone with a big heart who will really see him and choose him. Someone who will look at him and think, “You’re perfect. You’re mine.” ❤️ Beckham may not have had much luck so far, but the family who opens their home to him will be incredibly lucky. If you’d like to learn more about Beckham and our foster to adopt program, please reach out to c4ptoronto@gmail.com. Adopters must be located in Ontario, within approximately a three hour radius of Toronto.
