🐾 Ranger (aka Baxter) — Looking for His Forever Home! 🐾 📍 Location: Lexington, SC 🐶 Name: Ranger (aka Baxter) 🎂 Age: ~1 year (DOB ~5/12/25) 🐾 Breed: Beagle/Coonhound-type mix ⚖️ Weight: 24 lbs (full grown aside from filling out) ♂️ Male 💉 Neutered, heartworm negative, microchipped, UTD on heartworm/flea prevention, DHPP, Rabies & Bordetella. 🐕🐱👧 Good with dogs, cats & kids: Great with everyone! Doesn't care about cats and LOVES playing with other dogs. 🩺 Aggression/medical issues: None known. 🏡 Reason for rehoming: Ranger was picked up by Animal Control and was extremely overwhelmed in the shelter. He was pulled into foster care to decompress, learn how to be a house dog, and find his forever family. 🏠 House/crate trained: House trained, BUT he will not potty on leash. A fenced yard is REQUIRED or he will end up having potty accidents inside. He MUST be crated when left alone, as he has some separation anxiety and will become destructive if given free roam. 💕 Personality: Ranger is a happy, energetic young dog who LOVES attention, playing, food and other dogs. His foster describes him as a dog still figuring out how to be a pampered house dog instead of running through the woods entertaining himself with sticks. 😂 🎾 Balls are his FAVORITE! 🐕 Loves running & wrestling with other dogs 🍖 Extremely food motivated ❤️ Learning more every day about being a house dog He hasn't been destructive in foster care when properly managed and redirected, but he does occasionally investigate things he shouldn't. ⚠️ IMPORTANT: Ranger may only be 24 lbs, but he is a HUNTING BREED with a LOT of energy. He needs daily exercise, play and mental stimulation. If his energy isn't given an appropriate outlet, you WILL start seeing unwanted behaviors. This is not a low-energy couch dog! A fenced yard is REQUIRED so he can safely run and play. Lydia is a sweet Beagle with a gentle heart and so much love to give. She was rescued from a local shelter, where she was understandably scared and unsure. In her foster home, Lydia was given time, patience, and kindness—and after a couple of weeks, her shy shell began to fade. Now her foster is seeing the precious pup she truly is - affectionate, attention-seeking, and eager to be loved. Lydia is friendly with people and other dogs and is happiest in a semi-quiet home where she is not left alone for long. She is thriving in that calm, comforting environment and would love a family who will continue helping her feel safe and cherished. As of July 2026, Lydia is 5 years old, weighs 20 lbs. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. Beagles rock—and Lydia is ready to prove it!

Hi! My name is Suzie and I am a 1 year old, 32 pound hound mix. I look a lot like a miniature foxhound, but the jury is still out on that. I was saved from death row in a rural SC county shelter and am looking for my forever family. I am crate trained, get along really well with other dogs, and am gentle with children. I love to play with stuffed toys, and once the stuffing is gone, I still play with them. I also love chew bones and tennis balls. Aside from playing with my toys, two other favorite activities include going for long walks and sunbathing! I do still have some puppishness in me. I play for about 2 hours a day and then am content just enjoying nature or napping. One thing I would like in my new home is a fenced in yard so I can run and play. I think I would do well as an only dog or with another one to play with. I will wrap this up by telling you that if you make me a member of your family, you will not be disappointed. I am curious, cuddly, and loving and would love to have the opportunity to show you. He is a big fan of his chew bones and will carry them around in his mouth. He does have some quirks. He will growl sometimes when eating his food if approached. He is a independent boy and will do best as the only dog. He just needs all the attention to go to him. He is currently taking hip and joint chews to help with his arthritis.
