Remus came to us as a stray with his brother, Romulus, and unfortunately neither was ever reclaimed. Since arriving, Remus has shown what a sweet and resilient guy he is. He did come in with a gash on his right front leg, but it has fully healed and hasn’t caused him any ongoing issues. Remus is a friendly, gentle boy who does well with other dogs and is welcoming toward new people. He has also been friendly around livestock, making him a great candidate for a variety of home environments. While he can be a bit nervous on a leash at first, he relaxes and improves as the walk goes on — a little patience and consistency will go a long way. He has had some experience with house training and did well, though a refresher course in a new home will help him settle in smoothly. Remus is ready for a loving home where he can continue building confidence and enjoy the stability he deserves. Remus is fully vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and microchipped.

He’s currently heartworm positive and undergoing treatment — but don't let that worry you, because Jessie’s real superpower is his chill personality. At first, Jessie might look like he’ll drag you down the street… but surprise! He’s actually a slow-moving sweetheart who just wants to be close to his person. Take him on a walk too fast and he’ll let you know — by sitting down and giving you the “we’re not doing that” look. Dear Future Family, When you walk up to my kennel, I can’t help myself – I get so excited because I love people, and I just know if you give me a chance, you’ll see how special I am. My name is Jessie. I’m a 4-year-old Beagle mix with a gentle heart and an easy-going nature. I’ve been to the shelter twice in my life, and both times I was saved from euthanasia. I don’t want to go through that again… I just want a family who will love me forever. I’m dog-friendly, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and I’ve completed my heartworm treatments. I’m also low energy, happy to go for a walk or explore the yard, but just as happy to curl up beside you. My friends say I have a wonderful temperament and would make the perfect family dog. The best part? I can be adopted out of state and even to Canadian adopters, so no matter where you live, we could still find our way to each other.
