Story
Nucleus “Nukey” was adopted by our family in 2017 at 3 months old. He is incredibly sweet and loyal and a true ride or die. Nukey’s favorite day would include a long car ride to get a pup cup through drive thru, and a long walk followed by sunshine naps and snuggles with lots and lots of treats. He wants to snuggle and be with his people all day! As a beagle, Nukey is very food motivated and could likely learn any behavior with food as positive reinforcement. A suitable home for Nukey would need to have people with strong boundaries around food-no table feeding. If you give an inch, he’ll take a mile! While this was not a concern for our family the first 5 years of his life, it has been a struggle for us having a toddler and baby now dropping food constantly. He is protective around food. Nukey had a back injury in 2024 from an unknown cause that will flare up sometimes. He takes a daily joint chew that has been managing this injury.
