Story
Name: Rolf Breeds: Beagle Age: Young Adult Sex: Male Size: Medium ROLF NEEDS A FOSTER OR ADOPTER TO LEAVE THE SHELTER Do you like hounds? Want an outgoing, independent, loves everyone and everything, nose-to-the-ground, sometimes sings the songs of his people pooch? If so, Rolf wants to come home with you! He is all hound dog. He loves people, gets along great with other dogs, and thinks kids are fantastic little food dispensers of fun. He is absolutely a hoot. Housetraining is unknown being in a shelter setting and he is very much a marker so will need a belly band some reminders at first that marking in the house is a hard no but he is smart and food motivated so makes quick progress with training. He cannot go to a home with shared walls. He has the beagle bay and he has no problem showing it off! Rolf needs a home who is committed to keeping him secured on a leash/tie-out or that has a secure fence because he will follow his nose wherever it leads! Requirements: No shared walls Adoption Fee: $500 + tax. This includes neuter/spay, current vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm/tick testing in dogs over 8 months of age, deworming, microchip and current Heartgard and Nexgard preventatives. Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Penny was adopted from a rescue in 2017. She had a rough upbringing that has left her some issues. Overall she's a good dog. She's friendly around strangers and kids. She's neutral to wary of other dogs. She's never bitten anyone. And she's not happy about it, but she'll let you cut her nails without any growling or snapping. Penny needs a new home due to the owners failing health and inability to properly care for her. Penny was housebroken and never had accidents until the owner started having memory issues. I'd bet she'd easily be trained to go outside again. Penny had bad teeth from her upbringing and had most removed a couple years ago. But don't worry, she still enjoys her kibble. She doesn't really play with toys, mostly she likes to lay around and look out the window. Penny does have separation anxiety. This leads to accidents and barking while in a kennel while the owner is gone.

Story
Kenna is a lover of life! She's a playful social butterfly with high-energy and excellent communication skills. She's very smart (beagle side) and I have been able to swiftly train some habits right out of her and replace them with excellent manners and obedience. She genuinely wants to please, so she's made it quite easy. She is completely potty-trained, knows basic commands, mastered the doggie door in less than an hour, and loves to play with her active foster buddies. She instantly gets along with all personality types and submits when someone "has feelings" to discuss. On the contrary, her conflict-avoidance personality style makes her a bit of a pushover at times. Because she has a high energy level (boxer side), her best life would include a medium to large-sized active playmate. Because she's a beta, she would do well with an alpha, either male or female, just as long as they like to run around, play chase, play tug, etc.. She would love a yard to run around and get tired from. Once tired out, she loves to cuddle. She sleeps in bed with us and her favorite spot to sleep is in my nook with my arm around her. She doesn't kiss in the traditional way; her version is almost cat-like. She sort of smooshes her cheek to your cheek. She absolutely loves receiving kisses though. I have a stand-up computer desk and I often find her taking a break napping at my feet. She's a very sweet girl and is a joy to foster. Kenna is estimated to be 1 year and 4 months old and 35 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 100 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at http://www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home. We are also having an adoption event at Pumphouse Creamery in South Minneapolis on Saturday, June 3, from 12-2 pm. https://www.facebook.com/events/782616766872246 Animal attendance is subject to change based on their availability. Please check our Facebook page for confirmed attendance, one day prior to the event.

Story
Meet Oliver! If you’re looking for an extremely loving, people-centric, happy-go-lucky adult companion, then Oliver is your guy! His soulful eyes will melt your heart, and he loves to be near his people as much as he can. He lives for snuggles and cuddles, and will happily park on the couch with you for hours, as long as there are belly-rubs on the agenda. Oliver gets along easily with other dogs and is well-socialized. His beagle side shows through in his intelligence and in the time he’s been with his foster parents, he’s learned many new life skills like walking on a leash, some basic commands and how to be an all-around great canine citizen. He is completely housebroken and has never had an accident in the house! His favorite activities include chilling on the deck and patio, sniffing around the yard and keeping a close eye on his foster people. At bedtime, he will sleep in his dog bed or can also be kenneled at night. Through his excellent behavior, he’s already earned free-rein of the house and shows his good behavior every day. Oliver is a well-seasoned traveler and rides well in the car. While he doesn’t have kids in his foster home, he’s met them out and about and is great with children. He had some physical issues in his past, resulting in a broken pelvis that healed incorrectly, which gives him a bit of a hitch in his giddy-up. It doesn’t seem to slow him down at all though, and he shows incredible energy and enthusiasm each and every day. He might be an older gent, but Oliver’s beautiful heart and spirit will be a wonderful match for any family. Being a beagle mix, he would do best in a house with a fully-fenced yard. Oliver is estimated to be 10 years old and 23 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. Story
Meet Gordon! He has an adorable beagle face on a corgi body! He's just as sweet as he is cute, and he will steal your heart so fast. He's very affectionate, and he loves being pet and being around other dogs. He certainly doesn't act his age! Gordon may be 11 years old, but he hasn't slowed down. He weighs in at 23 pounds, and he's a low rider. He's been such a good boy at the rescue, and we'd love for him to find a forever home to cherish his golden years and show him real love!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or $200 for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as ''Out of Town'' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.June 5, 2023, 7:22 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //     Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $ 550 plus taxHi World, My name is Thorsten, but I respond to Milo. I am a typical knucklehead, maybe bulldog. Look at my head. Anyway I can be stubborn, but my foster is working on that. i can also be a bit possesive of my things. We are learning respect, and as per the photo of me in the crate its working, in order to eat I have to go to my crate. I still have puppy in me and will pull my blankets out of my crate, and if not told maybe try to chew on a couch pillow. I do love my big red bucket in the yard, yes I play with it. I get along with the other dogs in the house, and there are a few. There are these other things also, cats I believe. I guess I am not suppose to chase them, but when they run I want to join. Otherwise they seem OK and want to kiss me, yuk. So if you have a nice yard to play in, maybe an other dog to play with, and are willing to continue to train me I would love to meet you, as long as you don’t mind me climbing over you to get next to you on the couch. Yes I like the couch... *Thorsten would do best in a home with no small children*    If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //
